WHAT IS CYBER LAW ? Cyber Law is the Law Governing Cyber Space cyber space is very wide term and includes Computer networks ,software, data storage devices (hard disk,USB disks etc) Cyberlaws prevent or reduce large scale damage from cybercriminal activities by protecting information access, privacy, communications, intellectual property (IP) and freedom of speech related to the use of the Internet
CYBER CRIME ? Cybercrime is criminal activity that either targets or uses a computer, a computer network or a networked device . Most cybercrime is committed by cybercriminals or hackers who want to make money.

Laws are made to prevent identity theft, credit card theft, and other financial crimes
CYBER LAW IN INDIA Cyber law is defined under I.T. act 2000 And IPC(Indian penal code) 1860 Which came into force on 17 October 2000
IPC SECTION 1860 IT act 2000 is also covered under section 43 And section 66
UNDERSTANDING IPC SECTION 43 IPC section 43 states any person uses a computer or system networking without permission of the owner is a cyber theif PUNISHMENT He shall be liable to pay damages by the way of compensation not exceeding 1 cr.
IPC section 66 IPC section 66 of the ITact states that any person committing data theft must be punished PUNISHMENT Maximum imprisonment up to 3years OR a fine of rupees 5 lakhs
