Satan bound for a Thousand Year ‭Revelation 20:1-3 NKJV‬ [1] Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; [3] and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. https://bible.com/bible/114/rev.20.1-3.NKJV

‭‭Revelation 20:1 NKJV‬‬ [1] Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Satan bound for a Thousand Year Revelation 20:1-3 The angel represents divine authority and control over the abyss, which is a place for confining disobedient spirits The angel captures Satan, the deceiver, and binds him for a thousand years to prevent him from deceiving the nations. This act symbolizes the restriction of evil and the establishment of a period of peace and righteousness, often referred to as the millennial reign of Christ.

The reign with Christ •Revelation 20:4-6 •Those who were martyred for their faith, who did not worship the beast or receive its mark, are resurrected to reign with Christ for a thousand years. This period is known as the first resurrection. •T he first resurrection is a promise of blessing and holiness, indicating that those who take part in it are overcomers who will not be affected by the second death. ‭Revelation 20:4-6 NKJV‬ [4] And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. [5] But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. [6] Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

‭Revelation 20:7-10 NKJV‬ [7] Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison [8] and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. [9] They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. [10] The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Satan's final defeat

•Revelation 20:7-10 •Satan's release and the final rebellion against God's kingdom • After the thousand years, Satan is released from his prison and deceives the nations, gathering them for a final battle against God's people. However, God intervenes, and Satan, along with his followers, is defeated and thrown into the lake of fire. • This event symbolizes the ultimate triumph of good over evil and the final judgment of Satan Satan's final defeat

The Great white Throne Judgement • The final judgment of the lost of all ages by Jesus Christ. • John sees a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away. The dead, both small and great, stand before God, and books are opened, including the Book of Life. The dead are judged according to their works, as recorded in the books. • This is a solemn scene where no believer will stand; it is reserved for those who rejected Jesus Christ. It represents the purity and righteousness of God's final judgment ‭Revelation 20:11-12 NKJV‬ [11] Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

• The ultimate defeat of death and Hades, symbolizing the end of mortality and suffering. • The sea, along with Death and Hades, release the dead within them. Each person is judged according to their deeds. Subsequently, Death and Hades are cast into the lake of fire, representing the second death. • This act signifies the complete abolition of death as the last enemy, and the establishment of eternal life where death no longer has any power Death and Hades Destroyed ‭Revelation 20:13-14 NKJV‬ [13] The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. [14] Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

• T he final destiny of those not found in the Book of Life. • This verse states that anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life is cast into the lake of fire. This is referred to as the second death • The second death represents eternal separation from God and is the ultimate consequence for rejecting salvation through Jesus Christ. The second Death ‭Revelation 20:15 NKJV‬ [15] And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Q&A

QUESTIONS THAT PEOPLE ASK: 1. What is this "1000 years" - literal or symbolic? 2. Why bind Satan for 1000 years only to "loose" him again? 3. Why and how can the nations be "deceived" again under the rule of Jesus? 4. What is the "First Resurrection" vs. the "Second Resurrection"? 5. Why use the term "resurrection" - where have the "dead" been all this time? 6. What happens to the earth and us after the 1000 years? 7. Chapter 19 says that all were destroyed at the coming of Jesus...who will be left on the earth to "rule and reign" over? 8. Why reign for 1000 years "on the earth" in the first place? What is THAT about?

1. What is this "1000 years" - literal or symbolic? The only place in Scripture where this is mentioned specifically. It is, of course, where we get the terms "millennial" or "millennium". Greek="chilioi" - an uncertain long length of time. Used also to denote a thousand. Could be symbolic of a "long period of time". Some even see it as symbolic of the "rule and reign of Jesus in men's hearts on the earth without a literal presence of Jesus on a throne in Jerusalem." Most scholars interpret it as a literal period of time and a literal reigning of Jesus on the earth.

2. Why bind Satan for 1000 years only to "loose" him again? Note that the text says - in verse 3 - that "he must be loosed again." - Indicating that this is directed by God's sovereign will. Apparently Satan is "bound", "set aside", "taken out of the way" to allow a vast period of time when man's FREEWILL is not subject to the evil and demonic temptation of Satan. A kind of a "garden of Eden" without the "Serpent".

3. Why and how can the nations be "deceived" again under the rule of Jesus? Here I think is a glimpse into the intricate detail of Jesus' Justice and Fairness... This is all a part of His plan for the "ages". For "1000" yearsman (the earth) has been "freely" under the rule and reign of Jesus (absolute righteousness and fairness). All that is wrong, corrupt and evil has been made right and the nations have been "instructed" in righteousness at the feet of Jesus Himself. Yet...just as in the Throne Room of Heaven - EONS ago, when Satan and some of the angels, in their freewill rebelled... The nations will once again been given a "test". They will now be "without excuse". The Greatest Deceiver of all time will once again be "used" by God to "test" the hearts of the nations. When this final test and rebellion is over (And apparently, it will be SHORT! Gk.- "mikron"), The Great White Throne of Judgment will take place.
