The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, is an apex national body that was set up in November 2000 to co-ordinate all matters relating to medicinal plants in the country; to act as advisory body to the concerned ministries, Departments and Agencies in strategic planning of medicinal plant related initiatives; and to plan and support programmes relating to conservation and development of medicinal plants.
