MAKING OF BRICKS USING POLYMER WASTE GUIDED BY: Mr.D.VIMAL KUMAR ( Asst professor ) Mechanical engineering MEMBERS : S.RAJKUMAR 620816114155 S.SEENU 620816114192 N.SENTHAMILKUMARAN 620816114195 R.SENTHILVEL 620816114196

ABSTRACT Now a days plastic is major pollutants, so many activities and the inventions are developed to minimize the usage of plastics but still now we cannot able to reduce the pollution due to plastic waste as well as burning of plastic. Our innovations is to convert the wastages(dairy waste)to the useful materials. Now the time we are planned to manufacture the polymer brick by using of waste plastic(dairy waste) and sand(sieving). During the manufacturing of bricks lot of smoke are released to make effect on global warming so the most of plastic waste management projects getting failure ,but our projects is overcome near 30-45 percentage of that issues. Where we using this smoke will be involve to the hydro action. This continuous action convert water in to oil form This is used for lubrication and other domestic purpose.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION India , the world's second-most populous country, generates around 5.6 million tones of  plastic waste annually , Where this plastic waste generated in coastal regions is most at risk of entering the oceans. And also effect on the land ecosystem ,so we are planned to reduce and convert minor part of plastic(dairy wastes) in to use full form (bricks) Mainly the effect level founded in the living specious both the on and off shore .

INTRODUCTION We are construct the machine for convert the wasted plastics into the useful product. T wo way use full project (application of construction and good ecosystem) where we used to the production of polymer bricks sieving soil and melted plastic waste (polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate). And further details are presented in following presentation.

EQUIPMENT DESIGN

MACHINE DETAILS The mild steel is used for construct the equipment . Furnace which is made upon mild steel material diameter 235 cm and Hight 127cm, which heat carrying capacity200to700 degree Celsius . INDUCTION HEATING COIL 220v~240vAC -50hz- max heating up to 3000 degree Celsius Hot Gas Cooling Chamber mild steel-125cm height -195cm diameter -0.264cm thickness. W1209 TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND THERMOSTAT temperature sensing – relay cutter , which is used measure the inner temperature of the boiler , as well as control the maximum level of heat .

W1209 digital thermostat The   W1209  is an incredibly low cost yet highly  functional thermostat controller. With this module you can intelligently control power to most types of electrical device based on the temperature sensed by the included high accuracy NTC temperaturesensor .

METHODOLOGY soil Polymer waste Collection of plastic waste/soil Melting /soil sieving Mixing Molding drying Water absorption Compressive strength Hardness and efflorescence Testing Polymer brick

MELTING Collection of dairy waste plastic Plastic melted by using furnace Heat producing in the inert furnace is 210-300degree Celsius

MIXING We are use 1:15 or 2:15 (Plastic: Soil) proportion in manufacturing of polymer bricks to get proper strength and shape because if we use lesser proportion than 1:15 the soil and molten plastic will not bind properly and we will no get good strength. if we use greater proportion than 2:15 the error due to shrinkage will be more which may reduce the size and change the shape of the bricks

ANALYSIS TABLE   particulars   Load KN Surface area Mm2 Compressive strength In N/mm2   Efflorescence     specification   Polymer brick     189.00     22000     8.60     Nil As per IS 1077 the minimum compressive strength of brick is 3.5 N/mm2 and Grade A-7 to 14 N/mm2 ,Grade AA- above 14 N/mm2     Fly ash brick   125.00   22000   5.60   Nil As per IS 1077 the minimum compressive strength of brick is 3.5 N/mm2 and Grade A-7 to 14 N/mm2

WATER ABSORBTION 1. No brick should absorb water more than 20% of its dry weight when kept immersed in water for 24 hours. Plastic soil bricks do not absorb water hence water absorption of plastic soil bricks is 0 % 2 . All the faces should be true in shape. Size of the bricks should be standard as prescribed by Indian standards . 3. The plastic materials will cover the soil particles and plastic material does not absorb any water so that the water absorption of plastic soil bricks is 0%

Advantages Make it easy constructions near sea areas Used as making of stages in water filled areas Best suitable for constructions of heavy water reservoirs To achieve high plastic waste management To minimize use of water

FUTURE SCOPE We are planned take this project into next level like, by using waste plastic and other biological matter to make : 1.floor materials 2.Electric resistance materials 3.gascuts,etc.

CONCLUSION Using our device we making the plastics free environment and we are getting the high quality bricks . Our manufactured bricks has a good strength when compare to the fly ash bricks and ordinary bricks. Adequate curing temperature and curing time can give better results . my main objective is to restricts global warming from burning of plastic through our special machine project.
