CONTEXT AND RATIONALE Language plays an essential role in our social life. The use of language can make communication between one person to another easier, and it is essential to keep up with and learn what is being presented daily. Without the existence of language, it can cause misunderstanding among the people. English has become the main subject in every level from elementary school here in the Philippines ( Arief , 2022). However, according to Quinn (2022), English is hard to learn for it have a very large vocabulary. As supported by Javiez (2022), there is a massive number of words to learn and it’ not governed by a set of rules, only through memorization and context. This is why Victoria (2021) stated that teachers’ guidance is of great help for children to have rich vocabulary that continually grows through language and literacy experiences, to comprehend and construct increasingly complex texts, and engage in oral language for variety of social purposes.

ACTION RESEARCH QUESTIONS The following questions will be the mainstay of the research in order to answer the following questions: What is the mean average of the score of the learners on their pre-test? What is the mean average of the score of the learners on their post-test? Is there a significant difference between the vocabulary level of the learners before and after the implementation of 3 P’s Enhancement Program?

PROPOSED INNOVATION, INTERVENTION, AND STRATEGY 3 P’s Enhancement Program (Print Concepts, phonemic awareness, prefixes and suffixes) is an instructional strategy to help students improve their vocabulary by creating three specific solutions to generally address the issue. This strategy will engage the learners in visual reading materials that would show the meaning of words through pictures and written concepts. Visualization refers to our ability to make visual representations in our minds while learning vocabulary. It stimulates the imagination, enhances involvement with the text and improves mental imagery ( Kolodii et. al., 2020). This technique is concerned with making association between picture and words.

Phonemic awareness describes the ability to pick out phonemes- the sound that makes up words- in spoken words. It means identifying each unique phonemes and how the sound comes to create words. This strategy enhances learners’ vocabulary by recognizing the sounds and their corresponding meaning. Thus, by hearing the words they can translate the text symbols and thereby connect to words and understanding in our oral word memory.

Prefixes and suffixes or morphological awareness is the ability to understand the meaning of words. This is a strategy for understanding the relationships among words based on their shared meaningful units. Furthermore, it aims to unlock the structures and meanings within words to aid for faster decoding of the meaning of the word. Direct instruction of morphology is an effective means to help with understanding and applying word structure for decoding, spelling, and vocabulary study (Wilson, 2021).

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS Conclusion Based on the findings of this research, the following conclusions are drawn. Language skills play a critical role in our globalized world for a person’s career development. One of the most challenging parts of every language learning is the acquisition of vocabulary items. The findings of this study reveals that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test result which only means that there is an improvement in the vocabulary level of the Grade 8 students after the implementation of 3 P’s Enhancement Program.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS Recommendation This study presents the presentation of summary of findings, the establishments of conclusion and the formulation of recommendation based on the result of the study conducted by the researchers. There should be a regular intervention program that aims to target the vocabulary development of the learners to fully help them build a strong sense of decoding meanings of words in specific context. Teachers should employ wide use of print materials to encourage the learners to learn attentively and to strongly retain the definition of certain words. Furthermore, phonemic awareness as well as morphological awareness of the prefixes and suffixes also help in memory recognition and decoding of words definition.
