Introduction to Indian Army Land based branch and largest component of Indian Armed Forces. Largest Standing Volunteer Army –1,237,117 active personnel and 960,000 reserve personnel. Inherited most of the infrastructure of the British Indian Army. Headed by Chief of Army Staff(COAS). Currently, General Upendra Dwivedi is the current COAS of Indian Army. The President of India serves as the formal Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. Army Day is celebrated on 15 th January every year in India. Motto of Indian Army is “Sewa Paramo Dharma” i.e. “Service is our Prime Duty”. The Headquarter of Indian Army is located in New Delhi.

World War 2 : - Second World War was fought between 1939-1945 . - Again India fought under part of Allied Nations, sent over 2,500,000 soldiers to fight under British command against the Axis Powers. - Over 87,000 Indian soldiers(including those from modern day Pakistan , Nepal, and Bangladesh) died in World War 2.

Introduction to Indian Air Force The Indian Air Force (IAF Bhāratīya Vāyu Senā ) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. Indian Air Force stands at no 4 in the list of strongest Air Force in the world . There is approximately 140,000 active personnel and 1700+ aircraft. Motto of Indian Air Force is ( Touch the sky with Glory ) has been taken from eleventh chapter of the Gita. Army Day is celebrated on 8 th October every year in India and it’s headquarter is located in New Delhi.
History of Indian Air Force It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Raj. Earlier it is known as the Royal Indian Air force. On 1 April 1933, the IAF commissioned its first squadron. No.1 Squadron, with four Westland Wapiti biplanes and five Indian pilots Subroto Mukherjee
Indian Air Force Post Independence After Independence Indian Armed Forces were forcibly divided between India And Pakistan. During this period India were involved into number of significant military operations especially Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 and Operation Polo in which IAF invaded the State of Hyderabad and Overthrew its Nizam, adding state into Indian Union. After India Becoming a sovereign republic on 26 January 1950, some of the last vestiges of British rule were dropped and replaced with Indian tricolour and the Lion Capital of Ashoka. The Indian Air Force plays an important role in in securing Indian airspace and also in India’s power projection in South Asia and Indian Ocean. Therefore modernizing and expanding Indian Air Force is a top priority for the Indian Government.
Technology used in Indian Air Force Aircrafts Inventory HAL TEJAS :- It’s 4.5 gen Fighter jet with single engine, i.e. going to replace MiG-21. DASSAULT RAFALE :- It’s a Multirole Fighter Aircraft that India purchased from France. As per now 36 Rafale fighters are in service in Indian Air Force. Mikoyan MiG-29 :- It’s a Russian Made Fighter Aircraft serving Indian Air Force since 1986. Also known as Baaz (Hawk). There are 69 MiG-29 in service right now in IAF. Transport Aircraft Boeing C-17 Globemaster :- It’s a large military transport aircraft made by United States Air Force. Helicopters HAL DHRUV :- Primarily serves as a light utility helicopter in IAF. But, newer Dhruvs are also used as Attack Helicopters.

Primary Roles: Maritime Security: One of the navy's primary tasks is ensuring the security of Djibouti's territorial waters. This includes combating piracy, illegal fishing, and smuggling. Search and Rescue : The navy also plays a crucial role in conducting maritime search and rescue operations.

The Djiboutian Navy often works in conjunction with these foreign forces on regional security, anti-piracy, and counter-terrorism operations. Foreign Assistance : Djibouti receives significant military assistance from its international partners, which maintain military facilities in the country. This foreign presence not only enhance Djibouti's security but also allows for training and equipment modernization for the Djiboutian Navy. Naval Capabilities : The Djiboutian Navy is relatively small compared to the navies of other regional powers. Regional Cooperation : The navy participates in regional efforts to combat privacy and enhance maritime security, especially in the context of the African Union and other multinational initiatives.
