FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF SELECTED LENDING INSTITUTIONS IN DAVAO CITY Nicole Anne G. Nuñez Raymund M. Sequiña Rose Ann A. Siez BSBA-Financial Management | 2024 University of Mindanao
INTRODUCTION Society now anticipates that companies will manufacture goods and services and play a more prominent role in the community instead of being limited to their conventional role (Cho, Chung, and Young, 2019) Ekienabor , Kayode, and Ekienabor (2022) stated that to "make a profit" is the primary goal of a firm, and corporate social responsibility is an additional cost that most companies will choose to do without because it will form a financial strain on the firm and thus reduce the profit for a certain period. It is argued that firms that make CSR efforts might acquire a competitive edge over other opponents because of the positive public impression and produce more significant profits and a return on investment. Despite that, several authors oppose this ( Barauskaite and Streimikiene , 2021) BSBA-Financial Management | 2024 University of Mindanao
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has no notable effect on Return on Assets (ROA) ( Larasati and Nuraya , 2023) Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8) and Sustainable Cities and Community (SDG 11) Masum et. Al (2020) Further investigation into this topic has not been conducted in Davao City. INTRODUCTION BSBA-Financial Management | 2024 University of Mindanao

CONCLUSION (SOP3) BSBA-Financial Management | 2024 University of Mindanao
Lending institutions should consider collaborating with other agencies, enhancing financial education and assistance that aligns the needs of borrowers. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas should guide lending institutions in improving and implementing programs to engage with local community organizations and provide financial literacy to people like students, teachers, and administrators, especially those who have experienced difficulties. Future researchers may carry out related research to this study using mixed method in order to produce more thorough results and interpretation.
