Hemodialysis Hemodialysis is done outside your body using a machine. Your blood is pumped out of your body, cleaned by the machine, and then returned to your body. It's like your blood takes a detour through a machine to get cleaned before going back into your body.

Peritoneal Dialysis Peritoneal dialysis involves using the inside lining of your belly (abdomen) to filter your blood. A cleansing fluid is put into your belly, and it helps absorb waste and extra fluids from your blood. This process happens inside your body. In summary, peritoneal dialysis cleans your blood inside your body using your belly lining, while hemodialysis cleans your blood outside your body using a machine.

Filtration during Dialysis During dialysis, blood flows through a machine called a dialyzer. Inside the dialyzer, there are tiny filters, like super fine strainers. These filters let small particles like waste products and extra water pass through, while keeping bigger things like blood cells and proteins inside.

Diffusion during Dialysis Diffusion helps the waste particles move from your blood to the cleaning solution. In the blood, there are areas where there are more waste products compared to the cleaning solution in the dialyzer. So, these waste particles naturally move from where there's more of them (our blood) to where there's less of them (the cleaning solution).

Summary Filtration during dialysis: Blood is pushed through a special filter that allows small waste substances to move into a cleaning solution. Diffusion during dialysis: Waste substances naturally move from areas of high concentration to low concentration across the filter, helping to clean the blood.

Written Task Topic: Dialysis Q-1 How do you think filtration and diffusion take place during the process of dialysis? Q-2 How do you think peritoneal dialysis is different from hemodialysis ?
