This topic is always debatable and frankly, there is never a winner as to which culture is better. Both are different types of culture and customs that are followed in different parts of the world. Indian Culture refers to the customs, traditions, religions and set of rules that are followed in India, while the Western Culture most commonly refers to a culture that is followed in America and Europe. Both the cultures differ from each other in the traditional mindset, however, in today’s world both the cultures are coming into a mix. Westernization has been spread through out our country because of MEDIA. Catalogues, Magazines, Billboards clearly shows the impact of westernization in india .
Some effects are: Language confusion Influence of westernization on clothing Celebrations Westernization fade away our religious values Influence of different food chains in our society Individuality
LANGUAGE CONFUSION: HINDIOR ENGLISH? A dilemma most INDIANS are facing now a days especially the youth. Most INDIANS are moving away from their mother language and adopting ENGLISH Our education is focusing too much on ENGLISH at all levels

6) INDIVIDUALITY: JOINT FAMILY SYSTEM a trademark ofINDIAN social culture is loosing its value and seems to be vanishing from the scene The youth of today believes in individuality and as a result we have seen a rise in crime rates, divorces and psychological disorders
POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS: The positive side being, that the globalization is helping INDIA interact more with the foreign countries and establishing relations that will be helpful for INDIA’S economy. The negative side being, that the globalization is lifting the cultural barriers that were there in the indian culture and subsequently people moving away from the teachings of indian saints and relogions
WHY THE YOUTH OF TODAY IS SO INSPIRED BY THE WESTERN CULTURE? This question is frequently asked by people as this thing is increasing day by day. It may be due to deviancy from our religion, as a culture of any nation reflects in its religion. The m edia of today is exploiting the personalities of new generation. It presents the western world in such a glittering way that anybody can become its victim.
CONCLUSION: Westernization has influenced every aspect of daily life ranging from cuisine to the basic human right. Westernization has not only created amongst the public but it was a step-forward towards modernization and modernization in no sense can be regarded as harmful. On the other hand too much interest of youth towards western influences can be regarded as a negative impact on the society.
