Definition and purpose of each
menu

Device configuration

Device configuration menu
Purpose:
According to the protective scheme, to ENABLE/
DISABLE the protection.

Select masking I/O configuration

Masking i/o menu
Purpose:
According to the protective scheme to configure the following
functions are
•Binary inputs
•Binary outputs
•LED’s

Binary inputs should be configure
in BI column

Binary outputs should be configure
in BO column

Binary outputs should be configure
in BO column

Definition for Binary output Latched
and Unlatched
Latched:continuously making output
contact till it will get reset
Unlatched:output contact will automatically
reset after clearing fault

LED’s should be configure in LED
column

CLICK CFC CHART

CFC Menu
Purpose:
To make the protective function logic by
using Logic gates
Example :And, Or, Nor, Nand and so on

CLICK POWER SYSTEM DATA1

POWER SYSTEM DATA 1
PURPOSE:
Enter the power system details like
•CT Ratios
•PT Ratios
•Transformer details
•Phase Sequence
•Temperature Units

Power system data 1 Menu

Setting group A
Purpose:
By clicking setting group A, respective
protections setting will be display
according to configuration done in the
device configuration like
•Distance protection
•Distance zones
•Back up o/c

Setting group A Menu

Oscillographic records
Purpose:
To Configure the fault record in desired
graphic form by giving suitable settings in
•Post fault duration
•Prefault duration
•Trigger time duration

Oscillographic records Menu

By clicking oscillographic records

Select General device setting

General device setting
Purpose:
•To select LCD/LED display for pickup or
trip on after simulating fault.

By clicking General device setting

CFC APPLICATION
How to Make a logic in CFC chart

CFC
Abbreviation of CFC
C-Continuous
F-Function
C-Chart

New CFC creation
Click on Insert → CFC Chart
.

Rename the CFC chart
Accept the new chart name by clicking on OK.

•Open the CFC chart:
•Right-click on the name of the CFC chart
and select Open Object... in
•the displayed context menu.

Specifying the Priority Class
Edit → Run Sequence

Specifying the Priority Class
Edit → Predecessor for Installation
•Confirm the displayed message box on the
modified priority class by
•clicking on OK.

Specifying the Priority Class
•Click in the Run-time editor on Edit →
Run Sequence.... The CFC chart is
displayed again.

Example of CFC logic creation
We take Trip circuit supervision function
In trip circuit supervision
We need two inputs and on output
Inputs:
1.Trip relay
2.Breaker relay
Output:
TCS output

Configuration input and output
For configuring input and output go
Setting → making i/o

Configuration of input
•In order to use an information as an input
signal for the CFC on the left border,
allocate the information to CFC under
Destination:
•Right-click in the corresponding field of the
column C of the configuration
•matrix and select X (configured) in the
opened context menu

Configuration of input

Configuration of output
•In order to use an information as an output
signal for the CFC on the right border,
allocate the information to CFC under
Source:
•Right-click in the corresponding cell of the
column C of the configuration
•matrix and select X (configured) in the
opened context menu.

Configuration of output

Task to create trip circuit
supervision logic in CFC
Input signal :
1.Breaker relay
2.Trip relay
Output signal :
1.TCS output
CFC block:
1.OR gate

How to proceed
• In the DIGSI configuration matrix, configure the
input signals and the output signals to the CFC
• Create a new CFC chart with the designation
TCS.
• Specify the priority class Metered value
processing (MW_BEARB)
• Position the block OR gate.
• Interconnect the input signal.
• Interconnect the output signals.
• Compile the CFC chart.

Rename the CFC

Create CFC with name TCS

Renamed the CFC

Configure input / output
•To configure input and output
•Select the Settings folder in the
navigation pane and
• Double-click on the Masking I/O
(Configuration Matrix) function in the
data pane.

Create new function in TCS name

Create new function in TCS name

Configure input information
•Click in aero showing
area

Configure input information
•T0 select annunciation

Configure input information
•Select single point on/off and drag it to
TCS function Area

Configure input information
•Rename the block with Trip relay
•Configure the input with H type
H-Active with voltage
L-Active without voltage

Configure input

Configure input
•Similarly configure breaker relay input

Configure output
•Select Annunciation→ output fast→ protection on/off

Configure output
•And drag it rename with TCS output

Configure input
•After adding information to configure input
at designation area in c column

Make logic
•After configuring input and output
•Again go to
Setting→ CFC →Trip circuit supervision

Configure output
To configure output at source area in c
column

Make logic
Opening trip circuit supervision window
Specifying the Priority Class
Edit → Run Sequence

Make logic
•Select Metered value processing
(MW_BEARB)

Make logic
•After selecting Priority Class
Again go to Edit→ open run sequence
display the logic window

Make logic

Make logic
Select base logic then or gate
Finally drag or gate to empty space

Make logic
•Inter connect trip relay input

Make logic
•Inter connect Breaker relay input

Make logic
•Inter connect TCS output

Compile program
To compile program
Chart → compile
