Climatic requirement: The tree requires hot and dry climate during fruit development and ripening. Temperature: 25-30 degree c. Soil: Well drained, sandy loan to deep loamy soil. pH: Slightly acidic to neutral. Variety: Ganesh, Bhagawa , Mridula , Aarakta , Spacing: 3 x 3 metre

1.  Alternaria fruit spot: Management: Cultural: Affected fruits should be collected and destroyed. Chemical: Spraying Mancozeb (0.25%) or Captan (0.25%) effectively controls the disease. Management: Chemical: Carbendazim or Thiophanate methyl at 0.25ml/lit sprays. 2. Anthracnose:

3. Bacterial blight:  Management: Cultural: Wide row spacing. Selection of disease free seedlings for fresh planting. Ch e mical: Before pruning it should be sprayed with 1% Bordeaux mixture. After Ethrel   spraying Paste or smear with 0.5g Streptomycin Sulphate + 2.5g Copper oxy chloride  + 200g red oxide per lit of water.  4. Cercospora fruit spot: Management: Cultural: The diseased fruits should be collected and destroyed. Pruning and destruction of diseased twigs Ch e mical: Carbendazim @ 1g / lit were most effective.

Cercospora leaf spot: Management : Chemical: Spray Carbendazim 1g/l, for effective control Wilt of pomegranate : Management: Cultural: Do not allow water to stagnate, try to create drainage facility. Chemical: At initial stage drench 2ml Propiconazole + 4ml Chloropyriphos per litre water solution, drench 8-10 lit of solution per tree. Drench with Formaldehyde @ 25 ml/l.

Thrips Management: Mechanical: Yellow sticky trap. Chemical: Spray Dimethoate 0.06% prior to flowering is important and in severe condition spray methyl oxy-demeton 0.05% and repeat after fruit set.     Mealy bugs Management: Cultural: Remove affected twigs and small branches. Chemical: Spray monocrotophos (0.1%) or chlorpyriphos (0.02%).

Fruit borer Management: Cultural: Infected fruit should be destroy Chemical: Spraying of Melathion 1ml/lit
