Diseases that Affect the Major Organs of the Human Body
Heart Ailments This disease affects the heart or blood vessels. This can be hereditary when you inherited it in your ancestors, in born or defects you are born with, or the effect of one's lifestyle such as smoking. Signs can be heaviness when breathing, chest pain, chest pressure, pain, or burning of the chest. Examples are angina pectoris and r heumatic heart disease .
Stomach Ailments This is due to the problem of the organs present in the abdomen causing infection, or inflammation. This is caused by irregular eating habits, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. starving, imbalance diet. Signs can be severe or constant abdominal pain and bloating. Examples are dyspepsia (indigestion) , hyperacidity and u lce r .
Cancer Disease of the body’s cells which becomes harmful when forming masses of tissues called tumors.
Liver cancer This is caused by damage to the liver due to unhealthy lifestyle such as drinking alcohol. It can also be hereditary. Signs and symptoms can be pain in the rib cage and yellowish skin.
Lung cancer This is caused by smoking, inhalation of second-hand smoke, and exposure to air pollution. Signs and symptoms can be coughing up blood.
Stomach cancer This is due to the abnormal growth of cells that begin in the stomach. Caused by infection in other organs near the stomach and imbalance lifestyle. Symptoms can be heartburn, stomach pain, vomiting etc.
Colorectal cancer Disease in the colon. This is due to the uncontrollable growth of the cells in the large intestine. Symptoms can be abdominal discomfort and weight loss.
Pancreatic cancer Disease in the pancreas. This is due to the inflammation of the pancreas, imbalanced lifestyle or inherited. Symptoms can be loss of appetite and blood clots.
Diabetes Condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. This can be due to an imbalanced lifestyle or inherited. Symptoms can be weight loss, blurred vision, and extreme hunger.
Hypertension Also known as high blood pressure. This happens when blood pressure is higher than normal. This can be due to an unhealthy lifestyle and not getting enough exercise. Symptoms can be chest pain and difficulty in breathing
Tuberculosis A disease that affects the lungs. This is because of the bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Persistent cough and mucus or phlegm with blood.
Pneumonia Infection in the air sacs of the lungs. This is caused by viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Symptoms can be consistent cough, chest pain, and shortness in breathing.
Hepatitis It is an inflammation or damage of the liver. Caused by Hepatitis virus. Symptoms can be dark-colored urine and abdominal pain.
Asthma A disease in lungs wherein airways are inflamed and narrow. This is caused by allergens. Symptoms can be chest tightness and pain and shortness of breathing.
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Infection at any part of the kidney and other organs of the urinary system, This is caused by the enter of bacteria in the urinary tract. Symptoms can be pain when urinating, cloudy urine color, and smell in urine.
How to Keep the Major Organs of the Human Body Healthy?
How to Have a Healthy Body? Have a good and complete sleep. Sleeping for 6 to 8 hours at night and waking up early helps keep the memory sharp and allows the body to function well.
How to Have a Healthy Body? 2. Drink plenty of water regularly . Water keeps the body hydrated and energized. It also takes waste with it as it passes through the organs until the body urinate. Water helps in digestion.
How to Have a Healthy Body? 3. Eat fruits and vegetables. It gives necessary nutrients to boost energy and keep the organs working properly.
How to Take Care of Your Body? 4. Exercise regularly. Exercising is good for the heart as it aids in blood flow. Sweating removes toxins causing illnesses from the body. Exercising also keeps the lungs healthy.
How to Take Care of Your Body? 5. Take a bath regularly. This will keep the skin and hair from bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms that can cause illnesses .
How to Take Care of Your Body? 6. Keep your hands and nails clean. Keeping your hands and nails clean at all times can protect you from certain diseases.
How to Take Care of Your Body? 7. Eat on time. Your organs need nutrients at the proper time to work well. Eating on time will keep you from getting sick.

Assignment: Do this in your own time! Directions: Compose a song about taking care of the environment and taking care of your body. Include in your song how a clean environment can help in preventing 1-2 diseases. It should be 1-3 minutes long. Sing the song to either an original tune or the tune of a popular song of your choice. Record a video of yourself singing the song, and submit an mp4 file in Google Classroom.
