What is the dlo relay run? The DLO RELAY RUN is a proposed technological computer and smartphone platform or application. It is specifically designed to logistically solve the persistent drug shortages within the public health sector in the country. It was originally designed as an ecommerce platform whereby online orders are placed for overseas purchases and traced up until they reach the consumer in wholly transparent process. As such the platform’s edge is transparency and accountability, which are seemingly the stumbling blocks leading to the atrocity.

Dlo relay run mission & patriotism The platform is specifically developed to ensure timely procurement of drugs, update order change and then ensure total traceability of drugs from manufacturers/suppliers to the final destination. DLO RELAY RUN is one hundred percent youth and Swati-Owned and an original local solution to a rampant national problem. This means the proprietorship of this idea consists of individuals currently experiencing the effects of the drug shortages. Problems include be not limited to the cartelisation of pharmaceutical drugs, labour actions, legal exposure of the ministry and most notably the resultant deaths.

How will we bring accountability &transparency of users Drug Suppliers and Manufacturers Display available drugs and their competing prices on the platform. The Ministry can therefore openly procure these drugs from the catalogue based on price and availability of drug. Time it will take for drugs to be delivered to every point in the chain is also displayed, ensuring maximum transparency. Ministry of Health Places orders according to logistics demand from hospitals and reserves at Central Medical Stores. Any irregularity that takes place during distribution is instantly reported onto the Ministry’s feed either be it drugs that have just been damaged or missing stock during stock counts. To avoid misinformation being shared on the system the system requests the ministry to validate the irregularity through a confirmation to make sure parties operate in an ethical manner

Central Medical Stores A fter sales orders have been received by the ministry. Drugs are then put on transit to the central medical stores. The institution then stipulates drug information and stores drugs as expected. This information is recorded within the app. Carriers The carriers use the system to declare they have received cargo they conducted stock audits cargo is within their possession and they on their way to making delivery. Government Hospitals & Clinics After receiving drugs from the central medical stores they make sure they store these medicines into their respective locations. Every time a drug is dispensed at the dispensary the application records that transaction into a pin the pin is then to be validated by either the ministry or the finance department of that hospital.

Regulatory bodies Regulatory bodies use the system to verify supply chain parties as compliant or for any certification parties may currently hold. This is done s o the relevant institutions request for these approvals from these different regulatory bodies.
