•To look at the design of project
screens and flow of navigation.

•Project was the first DMS project, it was deployed as a
Client/Server application.
•Project was the converted over to webforms with
Forms9i released.
•Project had many influence on later systems because
it set the standards.
•Project introduced QQ and Advanced Query which is
still used today.

5. Project Overview
•A fundable program or facility that can be presented to and given funding by a
prospective donor. A project, from this process’s viewpoint, only deals with
information on how the project (or program) is funded and then ultimately
presented to donors, not on how the project is administered.

6. What is Project?
•An inquiry and maintenance form to input and
search for project status.
•First forms to set the look and feel of our other forms
in the DMS system.
•First use of QQ and Advanced Query to search
projects.
•First form to provide a copy function to cloned
projects to save time on similar projects.

7. What is Overview of Screen flow?
•Project was designed to be a tabbed form for user to jump to
focus area.
•The maintenance button which allow control to modify an create
new projects based on access and status.
•Security is applied by Role and function to hide functionality
from certain type of users.
•When modifying or creating projects the Maintain screen are
modal to ensure task completed before moving on to next task.
•This screen flow designed was to keep modification and input
simple. As well as keep the module broken out and can be split
up for faster development.

8. How does Security Fit into DMS?
•Security allows us to configure role and functions
down to the level of items.
•Security is generally done at the function level for
forms and reports for the user.
•Project security is done on Role by function to
restricted different user types.
•Project security was first module to apply security on
buttons for different user roles.

9. What is modal vs. non-modal?
•Modal windows require an end user to dismiss the
window before any other user interaction can
continue.
•What does Modal mean to DMS system. It is used for all
maintenance forms to ensure user completed task
before go to next form.
•Non-Modal forms are all other forms most common are
inquiry screen with no dependence for changed data
to maintained.

10. Summary
•Project was the bases of most standards
set in DMS still being used today.
