OVERVIEW: Nasal Septum deviation is a physical disorder of the nose where the septum is significantly off-centered, displaced or crooked. Septum is a thin cartilage that lies in the center of our nose and divides the nostrils. 2
A condition present at birth. In some cases, a deviated septum occurs during fetal development or due to injury during childbirth. Injury to the nose. It can also be the result of injury occurred while playing contact sports. Heredity Tumor, mass or polyp in the nose. 3 CAUSES:

TREATMENT Minor DNS with no complications require no treatment. But, when the deviation is severe, causing nasal obstruction, a surgery called septoplasty is the only procedure to straighten the septum. -It is done under general anesthesia and nearly costs around Rs 50,000-80000 in Nepal. -It’s a minor surgery for doctors which takes around 30min-90 min. -The success rate of primary septoplasty varies from 43% to 85%.
