In this drawing and selecting we are going to worked with the following tools Freehand Tool Bezier Tool Rectangle Tool Ellipse Tool Polygon Tool Getting Familiar with the Toolbox

Getting Started with the Project

First Open CorelDRAW and then open a New Graphic A blank page appears on the screen, do the following Steps Draw one Circle at the top –right Corner of the page Draw an rectangle on the left of the page Now create more 4 rectangles through Edit menu Click Duplicate option Getting Started with the Project

Selecting an Object The Pick tool helps us select an Object Steps: Click Pick tool in the Toolbox to make it the Currently selected tool Position the mouse pointer on rectangle 1 and click the left mouse button. Rectangle 1 gets selected, can make changes (Moving, Resizing, Deleting)

Resizing an Object Once an object is selected, it can be resized. Steps: Place the mouse pointer on the center handle of the right edge of the rectangle to be resized, mouse pointer changed into twin-headed arrow

2. Press the left mouse button and keeping it pressed, drag the mouse pointer leftwards to reduce the width of the rectangle 3. Release the mouse-button, The width of the rectangle is reduced 4. Now place the mouse pointer on the center handle of the top edge of the rectangle 1. 5. Drag the mouse pointer downwards to reduce the height of the rectangle 1. Now Rectangle 1 is resized.

Moving an Object Moving Rectangle 1 rightwards – Steps: Place the Mouse pointer over the center of the selected rectangle 1 Keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the mouse pointer rightwards Reaches desired position release left mouse button

Changing the Shape of an Object CorelDRAW provides shape tool for changing the shape of the object. STEPS: Click the Shape tool Click on the object to be reshaped, that object is covered with dotted lines Place the mouse pointer on the right handle at the bottom edge Press the left mouse button and keeping it pressed, drag the mouse pointer towards the left Release the mouse button

Combining Two Objects Combine two objects which can then be used as a single object STEPS: Click on the pick tool Press Shift key from the keyboard select rectangle 2 Click on the Combine button in the Property bar Similarly Combine rectangle 3 & 4.

Skewing an Object Skewing means reshaping an object from one of its sides. When skew an object, two of its corners move, two corners on the opposite side remain static STEPS: Click on any one of the rectangle 3 or 4 Again click on the selected rectangles 3 or 4,surrounded by rotation and skew handles Move the mouse pointer onto the right skew handle Keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the mouse pointer upwards to skew rectangle 3 or 4. Finally release the left mouse button.

Drawing a Polygon Polygon tool is used to draw polygons in different sides in a document. STEPS: Click the Graphics Tool to open In the fly out click polygon tool Click on the down arrow button on the box displaying Number of Points of Polygon

Welding the Objects The Weld feature of CoreDRAW is used to combine two objects Difference between combine and Weld is “Area of intersection” STEPS: Click triangle 1. Move down , Overlaps the object below Press shift and click second object to be welded Click weld icon in Property bar

Blending two Objects Blend between two objects to create the effect of progression of shape and or size from one object to another. STEPS: Click Interactive Blend Tool Place mouse pointer on triangle 3 and press the left mouse button Without releasing the left mouse button , drag the mouse pointer to triangle 2

Drawing Straight Lines Use Bezier tool for drawing lines STEPS: Click Bezier tool and draw line and continuing a line Place the mouse pointer on the page and click on the left mouse button Place the mouse pointer on the position where the line wants to be

Continuing a Line We can extend the line to draw a closed figure. STEPS: Click at the end point of the previous line Move the mouse pointer

Changing the View Mode To change the view size to full page again carry the following steps STEPS: Click Zoom level box in the Standard Tollbar Click To Page option in the list

The Artistic Media Tool The Artistic Media Tool is used to apply various effects to a curve. It provides different options for making simple , colored or texture strokes STEPS: Click Artistic Media Tool Click Preset mode button in property bar Next click Stroke list box Click required brush stroke

Rotating Objects To rotate any objects performs the following steps Click Pick tool Click on the object to be rotated, that object is surrounded by skew and rotate handles in corners Keep the mouse pointer, left mouse button pressed, drag continuously.

The Fill Tool Fly-Out Fill tool is used to fill an object with a color, pattern or a texture Done through Fountain Fill Tool, fill an object with a combination of two colors where one color gradually fades into another in different styles.

Fountain Fill Dialog Tool STEPS: Click Pick tool Click Object 1 Press Shift key and Select Object 2. Now click Fill Tool Click on Fountain Fill tool , and set the properties

Filling an Object with a Single Color Can fill the Object with one color is done through the Color palettes STEPS: Click the object is to be filled Next Click the Suitable color from the Color Palettes

The Post Script Fill Dialog Tool PostScript fill tools is used to fill an object with pre-defined design and textures. STEPS: Click Pick tool to select the object to be filled Click Fill tool Click post script fill tool , in that select the needed texture

Artistic Media Tool in Spray Mode Allows user to make strokes of a number of predefined patterns like balloons, foot prints, plant or foods…. STEPS: Click on the Free hand tool fly out. In that select Artistic Media Tool In Property bar select Sprayer icon Select needed spray and fill it
