2. DEFINITION Droplet infection is an infection that spread from one person to another by droplets of moisture released from upper respiratory tract either by sneezing or coughing .

4. DROPLET INFECTION TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF DROPLET INFECTION: SIZE: Less than 5 microns Behavior: succumb to gravity ,meaning they fall down after travelling in air Travel distance: short distance usually land within 1 to 2 min.

5. CONT… TRANSMISSION PROCESS: Patient transmit infection by coughing or sneezing. We can get infected when droplet contact directly or indirectly mucus membrane of our eyes ,nose or mouth.

6. How to prevent droplet infections ? Perform hand hygiene. Wear surgical gloves. Put a surgical mask. Put eye wear. Use personal protective equipments (PPE).
