Types of Acne Comedones - are slightly raised, skin-colored bumps around the opening of a hair follicle. The trapped sebum inside may be open to the air (a blackhead) or closed (a whitehead) . When bacteria invades a clogged follicle, it can cause redness, swelling, and pain. These “inflammatory” blemishes are more likely to cause scarring or discoloration. Sun protections Overexposure to sunlight is widely accepted as the cause for harmful effects on the skin, eye and immune system. Sun protection is essential to skin cancer prevention, about 90% of non-melanoma skin cancer and 86% of melanoma are associated with exposure to UV radiation from the sun. Babies and children are extra sensitive to the sun, and protecting their skin is paramount. While some exposure to sunlight can be enjoyable, too much can be dangerous.
Health risk Skin cancer:- - UV radiation exposure can cause skin cancer and accelerate cancer progression. - Frequent sun exposure and sunburn during childhood significantly increase the risk of developing skin cancer later in life . Sunburn:- - High doses of UV radiation kill most of the cells in the upper skin layer, and cells that are not killed are damaged.
Skin ageing:- - 90% of the visible changes commonly attributed to ageing may be caused by sun exposure. Malignant melanoma:- - It is the rarest but most dangerous type of skin cancer. Suntan:- - The skin produces the dark- colored pigment melanin as a shield against damage from UV radiation.
