Research shows that “The use of technology during whole-class instruction can foster student engagement for auditory and visual learners. Integrating simple technologies Power Points, games, internet homework assignments, or online grading systems can be difference makers in students' growth in the classroom”. Why is technology in the classroom important?

Using technology effectively In the classroom, there are many tools that can be used thanks to technology. Today, we will cover just a few of the basic technology tools we should/could be investing in for the benefits of our students. We will look at various forms of technology and how to best utilize them within your classrooms to not only benefit our students, but benefit you as well.

Individual work We will now allow you to spend some time getting some of these platforms set up for you to have access to in the classroom. Admin will be coming around for any questions you may have while setting up the programs. You have access to all the platforms we have discussed today. Please remember to bookmark these pages to your home page to make accessing them quicker and easier for you in the future. We will show you how to create/score assignments etc. as we make our way around. The next 20 minutes are yours to get yourself started!

Requirements While you are setting up the different technology platforms, please be prepared to fill out the Google Form that will be coming out for you to share the following with your admin team: Google Classroom Codes EdPuzzle Classroom links Documentation of usage of E-Hall Pass

Requirements Continued… Your admin team will also be requesting documentation of your use of the E-Hall pass. We are able to pull this from the website. We will also be looking at/including these tasks/items in both the formal and informal evaluations throughout the year.

Do you need assistance? The technology department/team will be sending out an email that contains the link to schedule an appointment. This will give you the opportunity to learn one on one about any of the systems you feel you need more direct help with. Please schedule a time to meet with them if you feel you need more assistance on setting the technology up, or how to use it effectively.

Wrap-up/Q&A The last 10 minutes we have together is open to any questions, thoughts, or concerns. If you have any of the above please raise your hand and we will call on individuals and address any questions etc. that you may have while we have some time.
