Activity : Earthquake Readiness Simulation

Instructions: 1. Divide the students into 3 big groups and each will be assigned a name (Before, During, After). Each group will be provided an envelope that contains scenario strips. 2. Each member of the big group will be given a scenario strip which will posted in the appropriate column in the manila paper with the help of the other group members. 3. Divide the big group further into 4 smaller groups.

Instructions: 4. The group leader will assign a scenario strip under their group name to the small groups. 5. The small groups shall role play or simulate the scenario strip assigned to them. 6. The act may or may not involve dialogues. 7. Accomplish all the tasks within the given time.

Time Allotment: 5 mins. – accomplish the table 3 mins. per group – simulation of actions 2 mins. per group – sharing of answers to the questions Rubrics: - Clarity of Response: 5 pts. - Creativity in Role-Play: 5 pts. - Teamwork: 5 pts. - Timeliness: 5 pts.

Assessment Questions: 1. What was your group’s earthquake scenario? 2. Was classifying the actions easy or difficult? Why did you say so? 3. What did you learn from another group’s presentation?

Why is it Important? 1. Why is it important to know the actions that need to be done before, during, and after an earthquake?
