Introduction East Asia is the eastern region of Asia, which is defined in both geographical and ethno-cultural terms . The modern states of East Asia include China, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, and Taiwan.

China China ,officially the People's Republic of China (PRC) is a country in East Asia. It is the world's most populous country , China is bordered by 14 countries: Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Vietnam most of any country in the world, tied with Russia. With an area of approximately 9.6 million square kilometers , the world's third largest country by total land area. The country consists of 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four municipalities, and two special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau). , and the most populous city and largest financial center is Shanghai.

North Korea North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is a country in East Asia. It constitutes the northern half of the Korean Peninsula and shares borders with China and Russia to the north at the Yalu and Tumen rivers, and South Korea to the south at the Korean Demilitarized Zone.

It’s equally known for its green, hilly countryside dotted with cherry trees and centuries-old Buddhist temples, plus its coastal fishing villages, sub-tropical islands and high-tech cities such as Seoul , the capital.
