Aldrin Edwin
Schmittendorf Federico

Edwin Eugene Aldrin (1930), American astronaut knows as
“Buzz”, and born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He graduated
of licentiate in sciences for the military academy of United
States in 1995.

Aldrin served as pilot on attack's plane during Corea´s war. After
graduating as Doctor in Sciences 1963, he represented the air
forces in the Naves Spatial Center (Texas) and one year later he
incorporated to program of apprenticeship
of astronauts.

In 1966 he was part of the substitute's team of the Gemini
IX mission, but his opportunity will be on 11
th
November
1966, which he was thrown to space with James Lovell in
the Gemini XII spaceship.

During this four days long flight, Aldrin did the “spatial walk” for
five and a half hours ( a record!). In the July of 1969 he was the
second man to put a foot in the moon when he
participated in the Apollo 11 mission.
