Link between Lord Shiva and Yoga Yoga has its origin from Lord Shiva. He was the first Yogi or AdiYogi. He imparted knowledge of Yoga to Mata Parvati and than to seven sages so that they could impart this practice to whole Universe so that mankind could be physically & mentally fit.

What is Yoga? Yoga is a group of  physical, mental, and  spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. Yoga is one of the six   Āstika schools of Hindu philosophical traditions. Its references are found in Rigveda , Upanishads, gita . Sun–Salutation or Surya Namaskar Without the sun, there will be no life on earth. Surya Namaskar or 'Sun Salutation' is a very ancient technique of paying respect to the sun that is the source of all forms of life on the planet Earth.   Surya Namaskar is the prayer of Lord Surya, the god of health and knowledge.
