Main Part of rolling mills are Motors and Drives. Motors and Drives selection should be accurate because of the
impact loads involved, the motors and drives must be selected to allow for momentary high overloads. If main
motor selection is not proper then can not be achieve required reduction. Same way as coilers motors and drives
selection are slightly wrong then it is not possible to achieve required reduction in the first pass and speed also.
From experience it has been shown that in order to meet the tension control requirements the motor speed must be
controlled to 0.01%. Fortunately many modern AC and DC digital drives can meet this static accuracy rating.
However, the more important criteria is the dynamic performance rating of the Drive which is necessary to minimize
the speed drop. The speed drop is affected by the inertia of the gearbox and motor combination as well as the
dynamic performance of the drive
.

systemspermittheproductionofclosetolerancestripmerelyby
pushingabutton.Thesystemautomaticallyandconsistently
maintainsextremelytighttolerancethroughoutthelengthof
everycoil,regardlessofspeed.Basically,theAGCSystem,
monitorsthestripgaugeandcorrectsvariationswithin
milliseconds.Correctionsaretransmittedtoanaccurate,highly
responsiveelectro-hydraulicservo-screwdown.

consistentlymaintainsextremelytighttolerancethroughout

variationswithinmilliseconds.Correctionsaretransmittedto
