2. What is a SHAPE? A SHAPE is any area enclosed in a line.

3. SHAPES are: Flat and two dimensional. This means they have height and width . width height

4. There are TWO categories of Shapes: EOMETRIC 1. Shapes O RGANIC 2. Shapes

5. EOMETRIC SHAPES Are regular shapes made from straight lines, angles and curves. They are also called man made shapes.

6. There are four basic Geometric shapes Square Triangle Rectangle Circle From these four shapes, all other geometric shapes are made.

7. Other Geometric shapes Diamond Hexagon Crescent Star Trapezium Oval Parallelogram Pentagon Octagon Lightning bolt Cross Semi-circle

8. O RGANIC SHAPES Are irregular shapes with a natural, free flowing and curving appearance (free forms). They are also called natural shapes and include things in nature like leaves, flowers, shells and clouds.

9. Organic shapes Flower Shell Cloud Sea horse Hand print Leaf Butterfly Apple Free forms: shapes which don’t look like any identifiable objects.
