The Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines uses a compensation system primarily based on a salary grade system. This system, aligned with the national government’s compensation structure, determines the salary of DepEd personnel based on their position and years of service.

Salary Grade and Position-Based Compensation: - DepEd’s compensation is fundamentally built upon a salary grade system. Each position within the Department, from Teacher I to high-level administrators, is assigned a specific salary grade. The salary grade directly correlates with the salary received.
