Economic Overview in Agriculture Unemployment and the associated lack of food security are the greatest crises facing South Africa. Stats SA (2024) gave the percentage of the working age officially unemployed per province (Fourth Quarter, 2023; Third Quarter in brackets) as: Limpopo - 31,8% (from 30.8%)

Cultivating Growth in Agriculture In the agricultural sector, focusing on beef and fresh produce, we aim to work closely with small and medium-sized farmers to enhance their market access and financial opportunities.

Target areas for Agri Polokwane, Tzaneen, Thohoyandou, Makhado, and Giyani. This will also include Industrial Economic Zones

Key Locations for Agriculture – Fresh Produce Tzaneen: Known as the "Fruit Basket of South Africa," Tzaneen is a major hub for avocado, mango, citrus, and banana farming. Mokopane: Focuses on vegetables like tomatoes, potatoes, and cabbages. Modjadjiskloof: Famous for its sub-tropical fruit farming, including mangoes, avocados, and macadamias. Polokwane: Central area for diverse crop production including maize and vegetables.

Key Locations for Agriculture - Beef Cattle Musina: Prominent area for beef cattle farming due to its vast grazing lands. Lephalale: Known for large-scale cattle ranching, supported by the local mining economy which provides a market for beef. Marble Hall: Combines both crop and livestock farming, offering a balanced agricultural environment. Makhado: Includes both communal and commercial beef cattle farming.

Aftermarket Sector The automotive aftermarket sector includes all products and services purchased for light and heavy-duty vehicles after the original sale. This includes replacement parts, accessories, equipment, and services, excluding the sale of the vehicle itself.

Objectives: Improve service delivery standards by providing business management training, tools, and mentorship. Expand business opportunities and market reach for local automotive service providers.

Geographic Concentration Polokwane: The economic hub of Limpopo, home to many key players in the automotive aftermarket sector, including major retailers, service providers, and parts suppliers. Thohoyandou: Another significant town with a developing automotive aftermarket sector. Tzaneen: A growing market with several auto repair shops and parts retailers catering to the local demand.
