INTRODUCTION The endoplasmic reticulum is found in almost all animals and plant cells . The only exceptions are mature erythrocytes and prokaryocytes . The largest membrane in a eukaryotic cell encloses the organelle termed the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)— an extensive network of closed, flattened membrane-bounded sacs called cisternae . The endoplasmic reticulum has a number of functions in the cell but is particularly important in the synthesis of lipids, secreted proteins, and many types of membrane proteins. Endoplasmic Reticulum is also known as endoskeleton of the cell or endomembrane system of the cell. ER is bounded with a single unit membrane.

Interesting facts List some interesting facts about Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Here are a few examples: In 1978, President Jimmy Carter signed a resolution designating May as Asian/Pacific Heritage Week. May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869. In 1992, the official designation of May as Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month was signed into law.
