Nouns Nouns are words that name people, places, and things.
Types of Nouns People are nouns that refer to individuals. People nouns can be singular (one) or plural (more than one). People Examples: Girl, boy, teacher, doctor.
Types of Nouns Places are nouns that name locations. Places can be singular or plural too. Place Examples: Park, school, beach, city.
Types of Nouns Things are nouns that represent objects or items. Just like people and places, things can be singular or plural. Things Examples: Ball, book, chair, toy.
Nouns can be identified by asking "Who?" or "What?" in a sentence. Identifying Nouns in a Sentence Example sentence: The cat is sleeping. Who is sleeping? The cat. "Cat" is the noun in this sentence.
Singular nouns refer to one person, place, or thing. Plural nouns refer to more than one person, place, or thing. Singular and Plural Nouns Examples: Dog, car, hat. Examples: Dogs, cars, hats.
Proper nouns are specific names of people, places, or things. They always start with a capital letter. Proper Nouns Examples: Sarah, London, Statue of Liberty, The Renaissance, Mount Kilimanjaro
Common nouns are general names for people, places, or things. They do not start with a capital letter unless they appear at the beginning of a sentence. Common and Proper Nouns Examples: City, teacher, dog.
