The   People Power Revolution  (also known as the  EDSA Revolution  and the  Philippine Revolution of 1986 ) was a series of popular demonstrations in the Philippines that began in 1983 and culminated on February 22–25, 1986. There was a sustained campaign of civil resistance against regime, violence and electoral fraud. The nonviolent revolution led to the departure of President Ferdinand Marcos and the restoration of democracy in the Philippines.

It is also referred to as the  Yellow Revolution  due to the presence of yellow ribbons during the demonstrations following the assassination of Filipino senator Benigno “ Ninoy ” Aquino Jr. It was widely seen as a victory of the people against the 20-year running authoritarian, repressive regime of then president Ferdinand Marcos and made news headlines as "the revolution that surprised the world".

The majority of the demonstrations took place on a long stretch of  Epifanio de los Santos Avenue more commonly known by its acronym  EDSA , in Metro Manila from February 22–25, 1986. They involved over two million Filipino civilians, as well as several political and military groups, and religious groups led by Cardinal Jaime Sin, the  Archbishop of Manila and

the  CBCP President Cardinal Ricardo Vidal, the  Archbishop of Cebu . The protests, fueled by the resistance and opposition from years of corrupt governance by Marcos, culminated with the departure of the  dictator from  Malacañang Palace to Hawaii. Corazon Aquino was proclaimed as the President of the Philippines after the revolution.

Answer the following questions: Why do you think the People Power Revolution is also known as EDSA Revolution? When did EDSA Revolution take place? What were the reasons behind EDSA Revolution? When was Corazon Aquino proclaimed as Philippine president?

Its classic, symmetrical profile, which rises above the Albay Gulf to a height of 2462 m, is the result of a structurally simple volcano where eruptions have occurred from a single central conduit. Once the flour is toasted, let it cool down for about 20 minutes then transfer to a mixing bowl. Add the powdered milk then stir using a balloon whisk. Put-in the granulated sugar then stir again. Add-in the crushed pinipig then stir until very ingredient is well distributed. Pour-in the softened butter and mix well. You may use your clean hands in doing the procedure. After mixing, let it stand for at least 10 minutes to allow the butter to cool. This will make the mixture more intact. Using a polvoron molder, scoop the mixture and put it on top of a pre-cut Japanese paper or cellophane then wrap . ______________________________

4. There are four main stages in the life cycle of the frog. The first stage in the life cycle of the frog is the egg . A frog lays many eggs at one time. The second stage of the frog life cycle is the tadpole . Hatched tadpoles have gills for breathing in the water. They have a tail, but no legs. As a tadpole grows, lungs begin to form. Back and front legs begin to grow. These parts allow the adult frog to live on land. Once the lungs form and begin to work, the gills and tail disappear. The adult frog is now ready to live on land. _______________________

5. Our Science teacher told us to rub a comb through our hair. The friction between our hair and the comb caused electrons to "jump" from her hair to the comb. When we touched the comb to the end of a fluorescent light bulb, the charged comb discharged into the light bulb caused the bulb to emit small pulses of light. Our action generated a great deal of excitement especially when we conducted this in a darkened room. ________________________

EX-NURSE CONVICTED OF INDIANA HOSPITAL DEATHS An Indiana jury convicted former nurse Orville Lynn Majors on Sunday of killing six hospital patients by giving them lethal injections. Jurors told the judge they could not reach a verdict on a seventh murder count. The patients all died within 13 months at Vermillion County Hospital in western Indiana, where Majors was employed. Prosecutors, who built their case around the fact that Majors was present -- and often alone -- when each patient died, say Majors delivered fatal injections of potassium chloride or epinephrine in order to kill the patients. They also found quantities of those at his home and in his van. But Majors maintained that the patients died of whatever illnesses brought them to the hospital. The judge did not allow prosecutors to use studies that linked Majors to as many as 130 other deaths at the hospital, fearing the trial would become bogged down. Majors , 38, faces life in prison for the crime.
