Countable nouns–
e.g. I eat a bananaevery day.
I like bananas.
“Banana”is a countablenoun.
We can put an ‘s’ on a countable
noun: „Bananas”

A countable noun can be
1. singular(banana) or
Countable nounsare things we can
count.
We can say ‘one banana’,‘two
bananas’ etc.

We add -esto most nouns in -o:

But we just add -sto:

Uncountable nouns
e.g. I eat riceeveryday.
I like rice.
Riceis an uncountable noun.

Uncountable nouns
An uncountable noun has only one form.

•Uncountable nouns are things we can’t
count.
•We can’tput an ‘s’ on an uncountable
noun.
•We can’tsay ‘one rice’, ‘two rices’, etc.

Uncountable nouns
We can classify them into:
•Grains.-rice, flour, wheat, oatmeal,
salt, sugar, etc
•Liquid.-Water, soda, tea, coffee,etc
•Meat.-beef, pork, chicken, fish
•Cream.-ice-cream, jam, etc
