WHAT Is a Predicate Adjective? A predicate adjective modifies the subject of the sentence, and is connected to the subject by a linking verb.

The red bag is cheap. The big bear is brown. The brown bear looks big . The horse is black. The streets are long and narrow. The dancers are tall , slender and graceful.

1. According to Jane, A Tale of Two Cities is an excellent book. 2. The road trip became horrifying. 3. All the artifacts in the museum are ancient. 4. The purchase of the black opal ring is extravagant. 5. The pyramids of Egypt are perplexing. Identify the predicate adjective/s in each of the following sentences.
