INTRODUCTION Perfect tenses in English are used to indicate actions completed or relevant in relation to another point in time. Next we will explain three perfect tenses: Present Perfect, Past Perfect and Future Perfect.

Present Perfect It is used to express actions or experiences that have relevance in the present, although they occurred at a non-specific time in the past. Structure: have/has + past participle of the verb.

Examples "I have traveled to many countries." He viajado a muchos países. "She has learned how to play the piano." Ella ha aprendido a tocar el piano. "They have seen that movie before." Ellos han visto esa película antes.

The past perfect is used to indicate an action completed before another action in the past. structure: had + past participle of the verb. PAST PERFECT

"She had already finished her homework when I called. Ella ya había terminado su tarea cuando la llamé . "By the time they arrived, we had already left." Para cuando ellos llegaron, nosotros ya nos habíamos ido. EXAMPLES

The future perfect is used to express actions that will be completed before a specific time in the future. Structure: will have + past participle of the verb. FUTURE PERFECT

"By next week, I will have finished my project." Para la próxima semana, habré terminado mi proyecto. "She will have lived in that city for five years by December." Ella habrá vivido en esa ciudad durante cinco años para diciembre. EXAMPLES
