The more Waste
We create
The more we need
to burn the waste
The more Carbon
Dioxide we produce
This Is One Of The Major Causes of Global Warming
Waste Management
•Average Global temperature has risen by
0.8 degree Celsius since 1880
•Arctic and Antarctic ice are melting fast
•If this continue, sea levels around the
world can rise by 4 to 8 inches

Page 5
The Effects Of Global Warming
•Extreme weather conditions like droughts,
heat-waves and floods are happening
more and more frequent
•Eleven of the last 12 years rank among
the 12 warmest years in the instrumental
record, which stretches back to 1850
•Extreme weather like hurricane and
typhoons are happening more frequent,
causing frequent flooding throughout
the world
•Temperatures and sea levels will
continue to rise for centuries even if
greenhouse gas emissions are
stabilized today

REDUCE
Reduce the amount of waste you create
by:
-making wise decisions when it comes to
purchasing
-how you use the items purchased
-think properly before you dispose of it
Page 11
Can be reused?
Necessary to buy?
REDUCE -Purchasing
•Buy only what you need
•Buy items in large quantities that can be reused
•Buy products with little or no packaging
•Buy environment-friendly chemicals
•Source for alternatives
•Source for lease equipment, pay as you print etc
Page 12
REDUCE
•make a few copies of documents to share
Page 13
REDUCE
•Avoid overproduction of marketing & publicity material
by reviewing distributions lists & regularly updating
databases
•cancel subscriptions of unwanted publications to
reduce paper waste
Page 14
REDUCE
•use less disposable items such as paper
cups
•bring your own cutlery and mug
•think before using plastic bags
Page 15
Page 16
REUSE
•reuse envelopes for sending
internal documents
•remove old documents & reuse
files for filing again
•collect all paper that has been
printed on one side and reuse for
scrap message pads.
•reuse paper clips, rubber bands
Page 17
REUSE
Reuse old marker
papers as papers
on easel board
for discussions
Plastic mineral
bottles can be
reused as
containers to hold
small parts
Page 18
REUSE
•Reuse leftover binding
fabric as colour tape
separator for fabric laying
(differentiate among
fabric roll)
•Small pieces of scrap
fabric can be used as rags
or sewing machine covers
Page 19
REUSE
•Reuse leftover carton boxes as folding aid for garments
or use as recycle bins
Page 20
REUSE
•Donate scrap testing fabric (larger pieces), accessories old sewing
machines for community outreach programs

RECYCLING ETIQUETTE
WASH & SQUASH & DISCARD

•Scrape out any food remains/pour away excess liquid
•Rinse the container
Squash
•Crush metal cans
•Squeeze plastic bottles flat to expel as much air as possible
