Steps in erection of CW pump
Level the pump base on sole plate up to 0.05mm/mtr
accuracy by using spirit level.
Grout the assembly from pocket to top of sole plate
by GP-2 material.
Clean the contact surface of sole plate & pump base
by kerosene or thinner.
Inspect blue matching between contact surfaces of
sole plate & pump base up to 80% accuracy.
Inspect shafts(1-impeller shaft,3-Intermediates
shaft,1-Head shaft) run out up to 0.2mm accuracy
by using dial gauge.
Attach impeller with impeller shaft & tight the
impeller nut with lock washer.
Insert assembly into bell mouth.
Attach bowl on bell mouth with O ring and tight the
studs and nut.

Attach impeller shaft with split ring & muff coupling
to the first intermediate shaft.
Attach taper pipe with O ring to the assembly & tight
the studs and nut.
Attach second intermediate shaft to the previous
shaft with split ring & muff coupling.

Attach O ring,bearing spider,O ring &
column pipe to the previous assembly &
tight the nut bolts.
Attach next third intermediate
shaft(which is last intermediate
shaft)with split ring & muff coupling to
the previous shaft.

Attach O ring,bearing spider,O
ring,discharge T to the previous
assembly & tight the nut bolts.

Attach fourth intermediate shaft with
split ring & muff coupling to the
previous shaft.
Attach O ring ,distance pipe to the
previous assembly & tight nut bolts.

Insert gland housing & tight the bolts.
Insert asbestos gland rope in the cavity
between shaft & gland housing till
space remain 10mm from base of the
distance pipe.
Insert two piece plate in 10mm space.
Insert ring plate & tight the bolts.
Insert reflector plate.
Attach head shaft with split ring & muff
coupling.

Attach pump base to the previous assembly &
tight the nuts.
Attach thrust bearing on pump base & set the
tilted pad on runner plate.
Attach thrust collar guide,deflector,lock
washer,chuck nut & lock nut.
Measure remaining distance of shaft.
Lift whole assembly through head shaft &
measure distance called as lift of pump.
Set the whole assembly up to half of the lift
called as float of the pump,tight the lock nut.

plate & tight nut bolts.

Attach motor stool to the previous
assembly.
Attach motor & couple it with head
shaft of pump up to accuracy of
0.2mm(axial & horizontal)by using dial
gauge.
Gap between these couplings should
not exceed 10mm.
