The Six Day War is a conflict that occurred in 1967, it went on from the 5th of June
to the 10th of the same month. The war involved Israel, a newly established State,
against the United Arab Republic (Egypt and Syria) and Jordan. After the war won by
Israel, the Arab community, especially communities of the countries involved, were
devastated by the defeat. Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasserwho had made
many promises to his people, later gave a speech informing them that they had lost
the war. In his speech ( resignation address ) given the 9th of June 1967, Nasser
announced his resignation from any official post concerning the country and
explained some causalities that led to the defeat of the United Arab Republic. We will

was primarily a meteorologist and astronomer rather than a geologist further
discounted his theory. Wegener provided numerous explanations and documentation
in support of his continental drift theory. He provided two fossils as evidence.
Glossopteris because it had been found on several continents that were widely
separated. Glossopteris, also known as a seed fern fossil, was too large to be
transported by the wind. The other was Mesosaurus which was a small aquatic

One of the few newspapers to act like Switzerland received a huge amount of
backlash for doing so. The Republican paper did not succumb to the Union or
confederate side and instead advocated for both sides, since the two editors of the
paper had different views, but the public was not pleased with this decision. The
general public deemed it weakness and a sign of duplicity to publish articles
advocating both sides of the issue and dubbed the paper the swill tub (Sachsman,
2014, p. 53). A Virginia paper tried this tactic as well, to no avail. The attempt,
however, on the part of any opposition paper to be simultaneously a Union journal
and a Southern journal was becoming illogical if not well neigh impossible
(Cappon, 1936, p.14). This explains why the majority took a side during the civil
war, as no newspaper wanted to loose the core of their audience due to not taking
sides. It is important to note that not all of the papers in this era were propagandist.
The Enquirer was able to omit their opinions and write objectively about the war.
Wise and his successors objectively reported the news rather than venting their
dissatisfaction with Confederate s conduct of the war (Davis Robertson, 2009, p.
37). This should have been how all the papers of this era reported the war yet a
backlash amongst the public contributed to a public outcry, which can be detrimental

of the main characters of the film; Shukichi and Tomi. We see them packing their

a long while. We can see that Ozu is showing us that becoming old is one struggle
that most humans fear, but of course it must occur in our lives. When the old slow
couple are packing, Shukichi asks Tomi where the inflatable pillow is and Tomi
responds and says that she gave it to him. With aging comes forgetfulness and

STORY COMMENTS
HOT SEAT is a well written thriller that fully engages the audience. It s the type of
script in which one feels as if they are watching the film. The plot is similar to the
concepts used in SPEED and in the film PHONE BOOTH.
In this story, the protagonist finds himself trapped in his office and forced to remain
seated in a chair wired by a bomb. If he stands up, the bomb goes off. The hero is
forced to hack his way into a complicated mainframe to open a vault for a mysterious

He s proactive with trying and failing. There s a nice twist with the reveal of the
perpetrator and a nice climax at the end except for the perpetrator strapping a bomb
vest on an 8 year old. This could be highly disturbing to the audience. Even though
the idea of the other right is skillfully set up, there s a taboo about exploiting
children and seeing an explosive vest on a child could dissuade a producer.
With that said there are other areas worth discussing for possible revisions. However,
even without these possible revisions, the script feels marketable.
The first area worth discussing is the opening scene in central park and the hot dog
cart. It s creative and interesting choice, but highly unrealistic. When first read, one
was not sure of the tone, especially with the description of processed guts and
yumminess. A more realistic scene doesn t involve a hot dog cart, but simply
people strolling in the park, and perhaps some teens or a homeless person find
something like a box and it s a bomb. The idea of the bomber going to the trouble of
getting a hot dog cart is more for dramatic purposes than realistic.
The scene between Jackson and Wally on page 2 isn t the most engaging i.e. their
dialogue. What works is the subtext about Life is chess. You better have a plan A,
B, and C, or game over. On page 28, again, their dialogue doesn t fully engage.
On page 3, a frantic officer tells them that there s an explosion in central park, and
then on page 28,
