Essay On Andrea Palladio
Andrea Palladio
Introduction: Figure ( 1): Andrea Palladio
Usually, those whom non specialists in the field of Architecture and Decoration and Design, do
not care so much about details they see in the buildings. However, the average person can, for
example, notes that all over the place or city is characterized by the nature of a particular architect.
But that s as far as could care about the person who does not have the competence on architecture
and buildings and design. For example, we do not expect them to look for the owner of the design
or the history of those buildings and analyzed, or designer, which can be designed, or the method
used in their design.
Otherwise, the architect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Palladio himself died in the summer of 1580. He was 71. In Rome, Palladio noted and painted old
Romanian effects. These were the buildings and the writings of the ancient Roman classics alive
and that was to influence Palladio. He also traveled throughout the rest of Italy, France and Croatia,
and study and painting wherever he went. The thing that developed his understanding of
Architecture is reading, especially by Vitruvius in (De Architectura) 15 and 16th century writers
such as writers such as Alberti, Serlio and Vignola.
Andrea Palladio Philosophy: Figure (2): Villa Barbaro the workers lived in the elegant wings
The philosophy of Palladio is a combination of antique and modern style, influenced by the Greek
construction, with the addition of minor details to it. Especially since he was born in the
Renaissance and influenced by the reality which he lived, during the period of his life. It helped
him to form his line. He also began to work in the field of architecture since the early time of his
age. He knew the area closely and has gained an architectural culture and had a wide knowledge of
Design and Architect through practice. In addition, his works were varied in different parts of
Europe. He designed churches,

Improper Paydays
Paydays All employees are paid on Wednesday. Normal payroll starts on Monday and ends on
Sunday and paid on Wednesday. Each paycheck will include earnings for all work performed
through the end of the previous payroll period. In the event that a regularly scheduled paydays falls
on a day off such as a weekend or holiday, employees will receive pay on the last day of work
before the regularly scheduled payday. If a regular payday falls during an employee s vacation, the
employee s paycheck will be available upon his or her return from vacation. Should any pay

discuss job performance and goals on an informal, day to day bases. Mr. Shine will make efforts
to periodically review an employee s work performance. The performance improvement process
will take place generally near end of the calendar year or as business needs dictate. Additional
formal performance evaluations may be conduct to provide both supervisors and employees the
opportunity to discuss job tasks, identify and correct weaknesses, encourage and recognize
strengths and discuss positive, purposeful approaches for meeting goals. The performance
improvement process should be seen as a means for increasing the quality and value of an
employee s work performance. An employee s initiative, effort, attitude, job knowledge, and other
factors will be addressed. An employee must understand that a positive job performance review
does not guarantee a pay raise or continued employment. Company pay raises and promotions are
based on numerous factors, only one of which is job performance. Merit

DDACTS And RTM Model
Methodology
The focus of this study evaluates the effects of using DDACTS and RTM in implementing the
ILP concept within the City of Gulfport through other studies conducted across the United States.
The City of Gulfport is located on along the Gulf of Mexico within the State of Mississippi
(Figure 1). Gulfport has a total area of 64.2 square miles and is home to an estimated 71,750
people according to the latest population estimate provided by the United States Census Bureau.
The Gulfport Police Department (GPD) is responsible for keeping the residents and visitors of
Gulfport safe by patrolling the area.

halal and vegetarian foods. 2. Arrival time was earlier than what was stated on the ticket which was

uncomfortable seats.
2.2THE SERVICE VALUE
Value is the customer s assessments of the benefits of the service weighted against all the cost
involved. (Johnston and Clark, 2008, pg. 44). In a service organisation, operations determine the
balance between minimising organisational cost and maximising customer s value. The service
value of BA includes the following: 1. All inclusive prices for the journey. 2. Free foods, drinks
and entertainment (television [audio and video], and headphones) while on board. 3. Tickets are
expensive compared to other airlines that provide the same services at cheaper rates. 4. Overall
satisfactory values for money.
Therefore, the service concept of BA gives a worldwide linkage of interconnecting flights and a
range of services for different group of travellers. BA follow this objective by establishing a
complex linkage of routes and by developing collaboration with other organisations (airlines) that
enhance international coverage and provide links among routes. Operationally, the main focus and
concern of BA is to ensure greater level of customer service, to generate international network, and
to manage route effectiveness.

During walking and running, leg muscles produce forces that impact the tibiofemoral joint. These
forces can have a negative impact on the development, health and maintenance of the cartilage and
meniscus in that joint (and increased load on the knees and the tibiofemoral joint can result in
osteoarthritis). The tibiofemoral load is varied depending on the muscle coordination patterns. The
laboratory created a musculoskeletal model of subject to analyze the tibiofemoral load, and an
optimization framework to calculate the load from muscle coordination. Using the model and
optimization framework, the laboratory was able to understand the impact of different muscle
coordination on the tibiofemoral load. The laboratory was able to precisely predict tibiofemoral
forces when compared to in vivo measurements during the early stance phase, but overshot its
prediction during the late stance phase. The over prediction of the tibiofemoral load was due to the
extended activity of the gastrocnemius and the rectus femoris. The laboratory was able to modify
the activity of these two muscles to increase resemblance with in vivo measurements. The
laboratory was also able to identify distinct changes in muscle activity that could decrease
tibiofemoral load. A decrease in activation of the rectus femoris and gastrocnemius and an increase
in activation of the soleus, gluteus medium and uniarticular hip flexors can decrease the
tibiofemoral forces during late

Social And Negative Effects Of Interracial Marriage
America socially and culturally has come a long way with desegregation, as one in six U.S.
newlyweds (17%) were married to a person of a different race or ethnicity in 2015, a more than
fivefold increase from 3% in 1967 (Kristen Bialik n.p.). The reason behind this is because about 50
years ago, there were many laws put in place that bans interracial marriage. However, the situation
changed when a when a white man and a black woman, the Lovings, violated Virginia s Racial
Integrity Act of 1924, which prohibited interracial marriage. The Lovings were sentenced to a year
in prison but they brought their case before the Supreme Court and their love won. In 1967, the
justices ruled in their favor in Loving vs. Virginia, thereby invalidating all racebased restrictions on
interracial marriage in the United States (Story Hinckley n.p.). With just one family resisting the
laws, it changed the perspective of the whole world as they proved that it was wrong to deny the
freedom of marrying whoever you wanted. Although people are slowly trying to become more
accepting of different views towards mixed marriage, families dealing with this situation are
experiencing negative and positive reactions from society. Children, in particular, show the most
concern regarding the impact interracial marriage has on their social and physiological issues.
Parents play a crucial role in a child s development as they provide the first experience in life that
influences the future. The atmosphere of

Cultural Syncretism In Greek Art
Greco Buddhist art is the artistic form of Greco Buddhism, a cultural syncretism between the
Classical Greek culture and Buddhism. Greco Buddhist art is characterized by the apparent
idealistic realism and in depth portrayal of Hellenistic art. Representations of the Buddha alongside
traditional Greek deities have helped outline the artistic canon for Buddhist art throughout Asia up
to the present. Additionally, it is also a strong example of cultural syncretism between eastern and
western civilizations and how the combination of the two cultures can redefine ideas of divinity.
Gods from the Greek mythological pantheon are incorporated in Buddhist representations,
displaying a strong combination of the two belief systems. A prominent depiction... Show more

Although both Herakles and Vajrapani are independent in tradition, blending them together creates a
new understanding of the ties between Greco Buddhism and how symbolism can be carried
throughout different cultures. As a syncretic combination of Western borrowing in concept and
iconography, the protector function of Vajrapani rendered the character distinctively qualified to
the personification of Herakles. Interpretations seen throughout currency and sculpture made an
undeniable impact and served as the forefront of Greco Guddhism as a canon of art. Additionally,
the knowledge of Herakles as a military valor and as a symbol of strength was apparent across
cultures; making it nearly impossible to deny how the Heraklean interpretation of Vajrapani served
as a cohesive force in forming Greco Buddhism as an artistic movement. Nontheless, the analogous
function of the two deities had much impact on Vajrapani being distinctively remembered as
Heraklean in nature, a form derided by western classical art. Surely this can be considered a fault of
the idolization of western culture in opposition to other cultures and how society perpetuates others

United States, U.s. V. Nixon
Not to be confused with Nixon v. United States, U.S. v. Nixon was a crucial case of the
Supreme Court during a time of political scandal. On the night of June 17th, 1972, five men
broke into the Democratic National Committee in an attempt to gain secrets that would help
Nixon win the re election. The men were found to be connected to Nixon himself. Upon being
caught, all hell broke loose for Nixon s presidency and there was no turning back. Upon further
investigation by Congress, Nixon was committing illegal acts other than that of burglary. It was
discovered that the tapes Nixon used to record his conversations in the Oval Office would be
beneficial in the sense that they contained all the proof needed to impeach the president. The
president argued that this damning information needed not be shared with the community and
was protected by his executive privileges. The entire situation became known as the Watergate
scandal and exploded in popularity with the help of the media. After it was all said and done, the
Supreme Court ruled that Nixon was being unconstitutional. This is undoubtedly true due to the
fact a president is supposed to help a country grow stronger, not tear it apart.
In November of 1968, Richard Nixon, a former vice president, gains the title of president
beating Hubert Humphrey in a strikingly close election. However, his presidency was soon met
with difficulty and scandal. By 1971, the Pentagon Papers had been leaked to the

Visit One Of Thailand s Remotest Areas And Stay In Umphang House
LEAD PARAGRAPH
Umphang is a remote village and district in the Thai province of Tak. Close to the border with
Burma / Myanmar and almost entirely enveloped by dense jungles and national parks, Umphang is
one of the county s most inaccessible areas. With just one twisting and winding mountainous road
into the area, you may wonder why people bother! Umphang is, however, well worth a visit. Home
to Thailand s biggest waterfall, visitors can also enjoy amazing views and an array of excellent
outdoor activities.
The town has just a few places to stay, and Umphang House is a great choice. The basic but clean
rooms offer a good base from which to enjoy the area, and you can easily arrange an assortment of
trips and activities with the guest house. Members of staff can speak good English, and are an

The Growing Up Of A Refugee Camp
Moving to America was the biggest change in my life. Before, I know very little of this world
and my thoughts and opinion were very narrow. I did not have the best education and I think little
about my future since I lived in a refugee camp. I also could not open myself up to people of
different background because of the lack of diversity while living in the camp. But moving to
America I was introduced with a new culture, education, and diversity that changes my life and my
views.
Before I moved to America I lived in a Thailand refugee camp called Mae La. Growing up in Mae
La camp there was not a lot of diversity since most people who live there were Karen people. All
my neighbor were Karen, therefore I was not close to people of different background or people
with different ethnicity. I could not open up to them easily since I only speak Karen language. I
was more comfortable with the Karen people too since I know mostly Karen people and my school
was full of Karen kids. I went to a mission school in Mae la and the school in Mae La refugee camp
was not well made like the one in US, it was made of bamboo and there was no floor. Mae La also
have a poor education system so many Karen student including myself did not get a full advance
education like the one in America. Since I was still a kid when I lived in Mae La camp, I did not
know about the struggle of living in refugee camp.
One day I come home from school and my family told me that we were moving to America. I could

Theme Of Human Nature In Of Mice And Men
Throughout literature, many authors give themes that reflect human nature through their
characters. Human nature in Of Mice and Men is represented in different ways through the
workers on the ranch. All of the characters have different ways of living and surviving and most
of the characters only care of themselves. Human nature is reflected in the different themes the
reader sees in the novel such as the impossibility of the American Dream, loneliness, and
discrimination. The impossibility of the American Dream has been displayed in novels and in
movies for decades. In Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie believe they are going to have a
farm and thrive off of it. ... Someday we re gonna get the jack together and we re gonna have a
little house and a couple of acres an a cow and some pigs and An live off the fatta the lan ,
Lennie shouted. An have rabbits. Go on, George! Tell about what we re gonna have in the
garden and about the rabbits in the cages and about the rain in the winter and the stove, and how
thick the cream is on the milk like you can hardly cut it. Tell about that, George. ... We ll have a
big vegetable patch and a rabbit hutch and chickens. And when it rains in the winter, we ll just
say the hell with goin to work, and we ll build up a fire in the stove and set around it an listen to
the rain comin down on the roof... (Steinbeck 14 15). Lennie held onto this idea that he was going

Idealised love hope and mortality in The Great Gatsby ...
Elizabeth Barret Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese and F. Scott. Fitzgerald s The Great
Gatsby both reflect, in abstract style and varying contexts and elements, the experience of idealised
love, hope and mortality. The elements employed by Barret Browning and Fitzgerald, differ in their
depictions of these themes through various literary devices, two of which are points of view and
motifs/symbols . Barret Browning s sonnetsequence illustrates a complex evolution of emotions as
the poet moves through sorrow, self doubt, passion, fear, and ultimately profound exhilaration and
joy, even in spite of the restlessly lingering thoughts of her own death, whereas, The Great Gatsby
follows the tale of young Nick Carraway, a seemingly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The death of Myrtle and the concept of mortality is represented through Nick s use of expressive
language, he states where Myrtle Wilson, her life violently extinguished, knelt in the road and
mingled her thick dark blood with the dust , this expression of life s tragic end here is
complemented by Nicks use of imagery, we are left with the raw image of Myrtle lying on the
floor in displaced agony stark message to readers that life is not perpetual and everlasting. Hope
is depicted through Gatsby s chase of the American Dream, he does not rest until this is finally
fulfilled, it never becomes truly realized and he ends up paying the ultimate price of his life for it.
Gatsby is blinded by the illusions that stand between him and happiness. Gatsby perceives Daisy to
be his happiness, but Daisy is not. Fitzgerald examines the American Dream by autopsy, through the
reflective narrator. Though the principles of the idealistic dream still exist, highlighted by Gatsby s
ambition and drive to improve himself, the morality behind the dream has been substituted by
money, resulting in decadence, corruption and distinct class divisions between people. Fitzgerald
represents the corruption and the demise of the original, idealistic American Dream with the death
of both Gatsby and Wilson two men who make a living, and strive to better themselves with new
money.

We Are The Boys From Old Britannia Poetic Devices
Songs and song lyrics can take many different forms. Like poetry, they tend to use many different
literary elements to convey a story. While most songs don t necessarily have a rhyme scheme like
some poems, they do however use elements such as imagery, diction, and many more elements that
can be found in poetry. The four songs Rule Britannia , Land of Hope and Glory , Waltzing Matilda,
and We are the Boys from old Florida demonstrate the use of poetic elements to tell a story. Out of
all of these songs, none are more poetic than Rule Britannia . This song uses great imagery,
allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a stunning picture of the illustrious nation of Great
Britain. The use of phrases like Britannia rules the waves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can be seen in its emotion. Just like poetry, this song has an ability to create great emotion
in those who hear it and are familiar with its meaning. To someone who is apart of the Gator
Nation, it can stir up a lot of different emotions. For a University of Florida alumni it could bring
back memories of their college days. It could also tie some thoughts into the Florida Ubiquity if
the alumni has relocated. For a current student, it can bring the emotion of pride in being apart
of one of the best universities in the nation. Also, it can remind that student of the tradition of

every home football game. For all future students it could give them a feeling of excitement.
Being able to be a part of a great educational system that one can be proud of is very exciting and

Nation in great light. It says, We are the boys from old Florida. This showcases the Gator Nation
as a group that is proud. Next, it says, Where the girls the fairest... the boys the squarest of any old

All The Years Of Her Life Analysis
Mother s are mysteries that we never seem to solve. Have you ever asked yourself, do I really
know my mother? Morley Callaghan in All the Years of Her Life introduced us to a mother who
demonstrates a kindness for her son, Alfred, and a strength untethered by Mr.Carr s intimidation.
She proves her unbendable patience and unwavering heart over the long years of her life. Mrs.
Higgins is a kind, strong, and patient mother.
Marley Callaghan shows Mrs. Higgins demonstrating an unfaltering kindness towards Mr. Carr
who is hard faced and stern. Alfred believes she will be harsh or will act poorly but instead, she

argument politely.
She gently adds, Yes, I suppose so. It s not for me to say because he is my son[,] [y]et I
sometimes think a little good advice is the best thing for a boy. Instead of acting out of fear or

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Online Education
Would you prefer having all your quizzes, assignments, and lectures on a computer screen or a
traditional classroom teacher where it is mandatory to listen to their lectures and their assignments

education. The advantages of online learningare that you get immediate feed back whether it s a
test, quiz or an assignment you get results of your score and what you got wrong in the matter of
just submitting your work. that gives you more time to look back at what you did wrong so you
can fix it and restudy the material given. Scores as well are immediate, as soon as you click out of

Another negative advantage is the lack of discipline, some students need to be nagged on and told
what to do. Other students need motivation from teachers and their peers, they need the constant
support or push. thirdly a disadvantage is the tecnical difficulties in the computer system, the
website could be down, crash and the constant updates like java, shockwave, and flash. Other
things could happen at home like their computer could break, wifi could go down or the power
could go off.
The positive sides of traditional in classroom schooling is having the classroom of students learning
the same material, with the same teacher having the advantage to exchange ideas and questions
with one another. Since you have the same material as the student next to you, you can help each
other and brainstorm homework questions after school if you both are stuck since there is no
teacher that goes home with you. In a traditional school, you have the operativity to make new
friends, join clubs, go to dances, and attend a rally. The disadvantages of a trading school are
one of the biggest problems most schools have is the big class sizes. the big class sizes of 27 to
30 students s that the teacher can t help you individually faster than it could be in a smaller
classroom. The bigger classroom could also be a distraction because of the loud kids or the ones
who don t do their work. Another

and sometimes despite our best efforts we fail.
All the shows cover the most elaborate down to the simplistic, and in most cases when it comes to
survival, simple and uncomplicated is better. Dave Canterbury one time showed us how to

complicated and elaborate ways of doing things when there are much simpler ways that would get

In Virginia Woolf s novel Mrs. Dalloway, Peter Walsh serves as the focalizer for a good portion
of the novel. It is through his eyes that we see Woolf s critiques of the British middle class
notions of propriety, success, and proper gender roles. Peter Walsh s thoughts and observations
of Clarissa Dalloway, Sally Seton and Richard Dalloway are all used to justify Woolf s critics on
societies pressures that cause people to become dependent on others to validate their place in
society, lose who they are and what they stand for in order to fit societies idea of women, as well
as question their masculinity because societal pressures force the association of success with
characteristics of masculinity. It is Peter s 5 year stay in India that... Show more content on

Peter talks of a radical Clarissa Dalloway who existed before his departure for India who would
not care if people saw her as a member of upper class society. Choosing to have Peter notice such
a minor detail about Mrs. Dalloway is one attempt of Woolf to criticize this idea of one
becoming dependent on other peoples perspective of them in British society. Although Peter
picks up on Clarissa s attempt to get him to believe she is now this women of upper class British
society, he picks up on her change in speech pattern and word choice which all point at this
critique that she puts the desire for Peter and others to believe she was truly a member of the upper
class society over her own true independency and beliefs.
Woolf s critiques on the societal pressures that force women to conform to societies ideal gender
role of women are another thing she uses Peter Walsh to expose. Peter s critical ways with
Clarissa Dalloway causes him to expose her conformity to societies idea of a woman. Calling
her the perfect hostess , Peter is calling out Clarissa s new role as just someone who throws
parties hinting at the idea that she has no other purpose to society other than to be the wife of
Richard Dalloway (Woolf 7). While present at Clarissa s party Peter realizes that these parties were

Positive And Negative Liberty
3. What is the difference between negative and positive liberty? Explain the difference using
examples. What is Isaiah Berlin s criticism of positive liberty? Give one possible response that a
proponent of positive liberty might give to Berlin.
The Two Concepts of Liberty by Isaiah Berlin distinguishes negative liberty from positive liberty.
Negative liberty emphasizes on freedom from outside interference whereas positive liberty
emphasizes on freedom to act upon one s will, to take control of one s life and have the ability to
achieve one s goals. While negative liberty requires absence of external hindrances which act as
impediments to the freedom of individuals, positive liberty requires presence of self control, self
mastery, self determination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One could become free simply by contenting oneself with one s situation. Some theorists of
positive freedom bite the bullet and say that the contented slave is indeed free that in order to be
free the individual must learn, not so much to dominate certain merely empirical desires, but to
rid herself of them. She must, in other words, remove as many of her desires as possible. As
Berlin puts it, if I have a wounded leg there are two methods of freeing myself from pain. One is
to heal the wound. But if the cure is too difficult or uncertain, there is another method. I can get
rid of the wound by cutting off my leg . But this state, even if it can be achieved, is not one that
liberals would want to call one of freedom, for it again risks masking important forms of
oppression. It is, after all, often in coming to terms with excessive external limitations in society
that individuals retreat into themselves, pretending to themselves that they do not really desire the
worldly goods or pleasures they have been denied. Moreover, the removal of desires may also be
an effect of outside forces, such as brainwashing, which we should hardly want to call a realization
of freedom. Because the concept of negative freedom concentrates on the external sphere in which
individuals interact, it seems to provide a better guarantee against the dangers of paternalism and
authoritarianism perceived by

Symbolism In Meshes Of The Afternoon By Maya Deren
The widely seminal work by Maya Deren, titled Meshes of the Afternoon, starts when an
artificial looking hand puts down a flower on the pathway. The hand, including the attached arm,
then pops out of existence, which immediately alerts the viewer that the film is not a literal
storytelling piece of work. they symbols within the following fourteen minutes further drill
holes into the viewers subconscious, in which images speak louder compared to words, which
created among the most well known short films of all times. The film is an effective piece of art
of all times, which brought a unique interpretation of storytelling within the film industry. The
flower is picked up by one woman who was heading to her home. When she reaches her door
step, her keys fall down. Once inside her house, she then falls asleep on an armchair. Further,
while dreaming, she sees herself approaching her house. However, the flower is now being
carried by hooded figure whose face is a mirror. Following the figure bring her to closer and

Solution Focused Therapy Summary
to solve the problem, which is achieved by creating goals (Flamez Watson, 2014). According to
White and Klein (2008) goals should be meaningful to the patient and show how interactions with
others will be different. In addition, goals should be situational to terms, able to be completed with
baby steps, and identify a clear role for the client. Also, the therapist uses conversation to identify
the patient s strengths, which allows the therapist to point out what the client can already do well as
needed throughout the therapyprocess (White Klein, 2008).

create greater confidence and engagement in students that have academic and emotional
difficulties. Children and adolescents often have a hard time being placed at in foster care homes.
According to Koob and Love (2010) solution focused brief therapy has potential to promote foster

Ethical Dilemm Conflict Of Interest
Ethical Dilemma I Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when an employee s duty to give his or her individual business loyalty
to the Company may be prejudiced by actual or potential personal benefit arising from another
source. While not presuming to restrict the right of individuals to passively invest or participate in
other business ventures, the Company is concerned where those interests might lead to conflicting
interests on the part of the individual. For example, a conflict of interest may arise when a director
takes actions or has interests that may make it difficult to perform his/her work for the Company
objectively and effectively. These conflicts of interest arise when a director, or member of the
director s family, receives improper personal benefits because of the director s position with the
Company. These benefits may include Gifts, Entertainment and Gratuities.
Based on the procedures mentioned in our text book, our moral choices should take into account
our specific duties, any essential ideals that our actions would support or weaken, and, finally, the
effects or consequences of the different options open to us. In taking into consideration the last part
of the above statement, remember that even loyal non consequentialists recognize that the likely
results of our actions are relevant to their moral assessment and that we have some duty to promote
human well being (Shaw 402).

Why Communication Is Necessary For Successful Management...
In the field of educational research, the need for a clear communication between the project
managers and its team members is fueled by the need to accurately measure the project status and to
be able to effectively control the deviations. A well designed communication strategy in this
complex research is mandatory to develop an effective communication.
This paper focuses on the use of internal communication for the particular case of the StartSmart K
3 Plus educational research project. To have a better understanding of the benefits and limitations of
internal communications from a project perspective, I will provide a description of the
communications recommended to be used for this project and the development and application of
the strategy selection.
2.Literature review
The communication process is very important throughout the project because it keeps informed the
ones involve in it, but also keeps in touch with those across the organization. Ironically, it is also
regarded as one of the most neglected part of corporate operations (Toney Powers, 1997 P.33)
There are many reasons why communication is necessary for the successful management of
changes in a project. These include ensuring an increased understanding of the project to eliminate
waste and to motivate those involved in the processes affected.
According to Hameri (1997): the larger the project, the more important the role of communication.
He argued and I agreed, that communication is not only important

The Dangers Of Freedom In The Film Under The Same Moon
Freedom is acquired through adversity. Adversity comes with fear. Many breakthroughs may
they be scientific, political, or social, have come about after overcoming adversity. Fear is
natural and expected when making decisions that will alter the future. But despite this fear,
breakthroughs are still possible. Every day, people are pushing at the boundaries of life to
expand general knowledge and to build better lives for them and their children. Some may say
that fear is a big enough threat to stop freedom. However, I assert that fear accompanies freedom
and every time freedom is established, no matter how insignificant, fear is overcame. When fleeing
from oppression or taking huge risks in life in hopes of obtaining physical or financial freedom,...

There are some who argue that when a woman decides to dress in a way that shows off her skin,
she is asking for negative attention from men. This reason is why the locker room behavior of
men is borderline accepted in primarily American culture. When women are told that the way
that they dress puts themselves in danger with men, it shames females into thinking that their
freedom to dress is less important because they have to worry about how they are going to be
treated. Though I concede that there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body
publicly, I still insist that a woman should be able to choose to wear what she wants without
being afraid of the consequences. After all, clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women
shouldn t have to be afraid because their freedom is more valuable than any man who would take
advantage of them. Being safe in this circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women
can wear clothes however they want and choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by
covering up. Another example that goes hand in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the
clear backpacks that students of Parkland High School in Florida are required to now use as a
result of the shooting in February. The freedom of these students is being taken away so that
teachers and administrators can ensure that the students are not

Across the different field of applications, several routing protocols have been proposed to achieve
enhanced network lifetime via energy efficient transmission [5]. The main cause for the energy
depletion in batteries in WSN is the communication required to transmit and receive data to other
nodes. Mostly the energy consumption in the network is due to transmission and reception
activities. However, the energy consumed for the processing operation is less important than the
energy used for communication [6].
The wireless sensor networks mainly comprise stationary and mobile sensors that are deployed
randomly inside the network and they collect data from the surroundings via wireless
communication links [7, 8].
Single hop or multi hop protocols are used to further transmit collected data to one or more base
stations or sink [9]. An enormous amount of structured and unstructured data known as big data
is generated rapidly that requires a flexible and reliable storage infrastructure [10]. Sensor nodes
transfer the obtained useful information from a defined network either directly or via a chain of
CHs to the BS [11]. In designing a routing protocol for WSN the main concern is the energy
efficiency [12]. Thus, energy depletion of one node may vary from other, i.e., nodes near the BS or
sink have more energy depletion than the other nodes. This results in the creation of energy holes
near the sink [13].
Further transmission of data towards the sink is not

There are at least two threats that the Tea Party currently faces. The first threat is the anti Tea

However, the Tea Party has debunked this charge through habitually civil behavior. Another part of
the anti Tea Party meme is charges of racism. However, the fading of large Tea Party gatherings

A second threat to the Tea Party is the threat of widespread voter fraud. If voter fraud is too

Experiential family therapy is a general theoretical model that has evolved since its beginnings in

experiential therapy, which can be seen in shifts in how clients think and feel and how their drive

The Nazi Regime Used Propaganda Posters
The Nazi regime used propaganda posters to primarily expose the German people to a new way
of thinking. In charge of distributing and overseeing the creation of a majority of the
propagandist posters was Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels. Born in Rheydt, Germany he created and
ran the Third Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. There, his goal was to
play upon the hopes, fears, and frustrations of the German people. Then, he wished to harness
those same emotions to spark a German movement and war. Goebbels believed that the written
word, instead of the spoke word, was responsible or countless great events in history. In his
posters he hoped that: Today every German soldier, worker, and pleasant knows what we are
fighting for. This is not a war for thorn and altar; it is a war for wheat and bread, for a full table
three times a day, a war of achievement of material means necessary for a solution of the social
question. There was fire in his blood, and it would end up clearly manifesting in his work on
propaganda posters. Initially Nazi propagandists used niche marketing to connect their posters to
all aspects of German life. Under niche marketing, they concentrated their efforts on smaller, yet
influential groups of people. Some examples included woman working in homes, farmers, factory
workers, and war veterans. If the government could get the support of those distinct groups, then

The Use Of Media And Media During The French Revolution
Media and propaganda have helped establish free societies, overthrow governments, and incite wars
throughout history. Revolutionaries utilized each to inspire and unite the populace during the
French Revolution. Persuasive newspapers and pamphlets featured opinion pieces that convinced
commoners of the drastic economic, social, and political changes needed to improve their quality of
life, role in society and potential for social advancement. Revolutionaries used art in museums and
mass distributed prints as propaganda to rally the masses with nationalistic themes of heroism,

with passion to unite against the monarchy and fight for the revolution. The use of media and

and drastically altered the course of the movement.
The French Revolution officially began in 1789, but the monarchy made a series of disastrous
earlier decisions which created the perfect conditions for the movement to thrive and engulf the
country in chaos. King Louis XVI dedicated funds to assist the American colonists in their fight for

be compared in this paper; social learning theory and constructivism theory.
Social Learning Theory
Regarding social learning, this theory explains the individual learning process, the formation of
one s identity and, how individuals learn by observing others in a social setting. Known as the
bridge between behaviorist and cognitive learning theories, it incorporates some aspects of
behaviorist and cognitive frameworks (Taylor, et al., 2000. para. 7). As stated by Psychologist
Albert Bandura (1986, 1988), Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling:
from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later
occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action. Effective modeling teaches general
rules and strategies for dealing with different situations. (Bandura). Concerning social learning, in
regards to the role of an instructor, he or she has to be an appropriate model, equip their students to
self regulate, self monitor, self correct, and properly self monitor (Ellis, n.d.). An instructor needs to
be a positive influence, a mentor, and understand how his or her behaviors affect others. They must
inspire and teach by example, encourage teamwork, and support the growth and

Aristotle And Socrates
To answer the question, I will be comparing Pericles s, Aristotle s and Socrates s thoughts about
whether to think ourselves as friends or as strangers. Pericles and Aristotle conceptualize political
communities largely as associations of friends. Pericles believes that participation in democracy, is
in a way allows Athenians to become great warriors, to develop friendship and to have communal
beliefs. Friendship and community are integral to democracy. Pericles said, a man who is private
has no business in Athens. The idea of Democracy is that citizens get the opportunities to
participate in state affairs and help to make certain decisions. Athens is a democratic city, they give
equal rights and opportunities to their citizens to participate in political matters and let their citizens
voice be heard. If you are Athenian citizen, you are very lucky individuals. Socrateson the other
hand, conceptualizes political communities largely as associations of strangers. Socrates believes
that it is better to think about ourselves as strangers than friends. Socrates likes his... Show more

If they allow others who are not citizens to get involved in the political matters and have a total
stranger who has a wise opinion on certain matter, there will be different and better outcomes. For
those reasons Socrates philosophies are the better of the two. Pericles and Aristotle failed in this
aspect, because their idea does not allow everyone to participate in the government, particularly
those who are mechanics, even those mechanics who are wise and can offer innovative ideas cannot
participate due to their

The issues raised by Isoft elucidate the importance of recording an accurate picture of its
earnings. The joint project of the FASB and the IASB is trying to converge the two sets of
standards and offer a single revenue recognition model that can be applied consistently to various
transactions which would address these issues of lack of guidance. Introduction: In January 2006,
Isoft Ltd, a Manchester based supplier of software applications for the healthcare sector,
announced that its profit would be below market expectations due to a change in its accounting
policy for revenue recognition, when it announced its results for the year ended April 2006. This
situation is not unusual within the software industry and reflects the issues that software
companies face when it comes to accounting for revenues. As the financial controller of
SoftWarehouse Ltd, my goal is to clarify and explain the main issues faced by Isoft Ltd; the
consequences of those issues on the business and finally; to determine if those practices could
also impact the financial reporting within SoftWarehouse Ltd. Part 1 Examining the Isoft Ltd
example: The underlying principle of Isoft Ltd s historic revenue recognition policy had been that
the value of product licences was recognised at the time of delivery, while the value of support and
services was recognised as they were

Similarities Between Aristotle And Hobbes
What is the natural condition of man according to Aristotle and Hobbes? Please compare.
Aristotle and Thomas Hobbes, both significant figures in the world of philosophy, are separated
by 19 centuries, and their theories are as far from each other. To be more precise, Aristotle s and
Hobbes s ideas of the nature of man are opposite, which was underlined by Hobbes himself in his
Leviathan work. I believe, that scarce anything can be more absurdly said in natural philosophy
than that which now is called Aristotle s Metaphysics; nor more repugnant to government than
much of that he hath said in his Politics; nor more ignorantly than a great part of his Ethics (III,
669). After these words, there are no doubts that, being familiar with Aristotle s ... Show more

Starting with the main idea: unlike Aristotle, Hobbs rejects any statements about the man as a
social creature. He states, that a man is an individual, and he only collaborates with other men
because of the instinct, because of the desire to survive. All men are equal, which is one more
contradiction with Aristotle, and all men are competitive. By himself man is an egoistic, willing
the best for himself, like power and wealth, but avoiding any kind of sufferings. When all men are
the same, all men are like this, there are constant conflicts, which is considered to be a natural
state, according to Hobbes. Every man is willing to take control over the others, the instinct of self
preservation prevails in a man s nature. This statement leads to the conclusion, that the natural state
of man is a state of war. In this state every man is against every man and everyone would just kill
each other, but the only thing that stops them and controls is an authority. Hobbes suggests that
every State needs an absolute ruler, absolute monarchy. He claims that because of the fear people
keep the laws of this absolute monarch, so only a stable government can keep people from their
natural state, which is bellum omnium contra omnes {war of all against

Farce and Satire in Shakespeare s Comedy of Errors Essays
Farce and Satire in The Comedy of Errors
All is not as it seems in The Comedy of Errors. Some have the notion that The Comedy of Errors
is a classical and relatively un Shakespearean play. The plot is, in fact, based largely on Plautus s
Menaechmi, a light hearted comedy in which twins are mistaken for each other. Shakespeare s
addition of twin servants is borrowed from Amphitruo, another play by Plautus. Like its classical
predecessors, The Comedy of Errors mixes farce and satire and (to a degree) presents us with stock
characters.
Besides being based on classical models, is it really fair to call The Comedy of Errors a serious
play? I m not sure it is. Three quarters of the play is a fast paced comedy based on ... Show more

What is it, after all, that makes one person different from another? In the case of twins, where
everything physical points to identity, how can we tell one person from the other? Some of the
characters even begin to doubt their own identity. Dromio of Syracuse says, I am transformed,
master, am not I? , and his master wonders, Am I in earth, in heaven, or in hell?/ Sleeping or
waking, mad or well advis d?/ Known unto these, and to myself disguis d? (II.ii.195, 212 14).
The play may also be taken as commenting seriously on the limits of human perception and
understanding. Both in the last scene and earlier, the strange happenings raise the questions of
magic and madness. Antipholus of Syracuse says he thinks Ephesus may be full of sorcerers or
witches (I.ii.99; IV.iii.11; III.ii.156), and he wonders more than once if he has gone mad. Dromio of
Syracuse thinks he is in fairy land (II.ii.189). The play reveals the limits of human understanding,
not only through the mistakes made throughout the play, but also through the fumbling attempts to
account for what is happening in the final scene. The Duke wonders if everyone is mated, or stark
mad (V.i.282), and Antipholus of Syracuse wonders if he is dreaming (V.i.377). Adriana (wife of
the other Antipholus) puts the matter most directly when she says that her husband s presence in two

I. Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment is to distinguish the relationships between reactants and products, in
addition to expanding on concepts such as single displacement reactions, mole ratio values, moles

The Consequences of Responsibility in Dubliners Essay
The Consequences of Responsibility in Dubliners
James Joyce wrote a book of stories called Dubliners discussing different people s lives in
Dublin. In writing these stories, Joyce tries to portray in the characters a sense of sadness and
pressure to do what is expected in society. When he wrote the book it was during a rough time in
Dublin. Therefore, the issues that he discusses in the different stories show how the lives of the
people were not as happy as they all wished. In the stories Eveline, The Boarding House, and The
Dead, each one of the characters find some form of light at the end of the story which gives them
a new start on their lives. Eveline is a story about a girl who wants to escape from her life ... Show

Evelin s obligation to her father, she was forced upon by her decision to obey her mother s

her, he had begun to threaten her and say what he would to do her only for her dead mother s
sake (30) even after that Eveline still felt obligated to help her father. His meanness caused a
depressing feeling over Eveline. After her mother died and she was obligated to take on her
mother s role, she says, It was hard work hard life (31); she did it for her friends, family, and
especially her mother. Eveline s obligation to her mother and father causes her consequence for her

Alice In Wonderland Banned
Imagine walking around following this rabbit and there is a rabbit hole. There is a door in the
hole which leads to this fantasy world no one has ever seen before called Wonderland.
Wonderland is this magical and amazing realm out of this world. In Wonderland animals can
talk, disappear, and do so many other things. Mushrooms there can make things grow and
potions can make things shrink. Well, that s what Lewis Carroll wrote about in two his books.
After taking up writing as a hobby to entertain a young girl, Lewis Carroll wrote his two most
famous books that are some of the most creative works of children s fantasy in the history of
literature. Lewis Carroll was a math professor who took up writing as a hobby, which led to his

In the article, Alice s Adventures in Wonderland it says, Alice s Adventures in Wonderland is
considered banned because some people thought it was a commentary on drug culture. People
thought this because of the caterpillar in the begging of the book is smoking a hookah while
talking to Alice. People also thought it was associated with drug culture because they thought it
was associated with LSD trips. Another reason why people considered it banned was due to
religion. Some religions believe that animals should not be put on the same level as humans and
animals should not use human language. These things are deemed an abomination in the sight
of God in many religions. A third reason why it was thought banned is because people thought it
was too strange and full of nonsense. That is why some librarians wouldn t put it on their
shelves. One last reason why it was considered banned is because some people thought Lewis
Carroll was a pedophile. They thought this because Carroll had an interest in little girls and
would take pictures of them for his hobby for photography. Carroll liked little girls but not in
that way. When he was in school as a young boy he got bullied a lot by other boys which made
him not favor little boys growing up and favor little girls (32 39). Even though there was a lot of
controversy there was a lot of praise too. In the article, Alice s Adventures in Wonderland it says,
that Carroll books are said to be some of the most creative works of children s fantasy in the
history of literature. It is also said to be that his two most famous books, Alice s Adventures in
Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, are listed among the greatest and most influential
books ever written in English. Also, some people say his books remain next to the Bible and the
works of Shakespeare and among the world s most widely translated

Collegiate Athletics Vs. Indiana State University Board Of...
Collegiate athletics is growing each day and the athletes are becoming faster, stronger, and
quicker each day. As the competition on the field improves, the risk of injury also becomes more
of a possibility. While strength and conditioning coaches have created athletes who are able to
withstand more physical play and can rehab quicker from injury, they have also created monsters
on the playing field and court. As collegiate athletics grows into a multibillion dollar industry, the
players expect to have more benefits available to them, including workers compensation. We have
seen a variety of situations arise recently were players are looking to secure their own safety when
playing such physical games.
In 1976, a football student athlete at Indiana State University suffered an injury that left him as a
quadriplegic. In 1983, the case Rensing v. Indiana State University Board of Trustees was heard by
the Indiana State Supreme Court. The court decided that the Indiana court of appeals incorrectly
concluded that Rensing was an employee under the Workmen s Compensation Act and therefore
Indiana State University was not responsible to provide Rensing with any medical or disability
expenses. It is a requirement of the NCAA for every athlete to carry health insurance and to provide
health insurance to those athletes who are not able to provide their own health insurance. It is also
highly recommended that NCAA institutions carry additional health care insurance for their
