New Hampshire Principal Competencies
The job of a school leader is not easy as many may think. School leaders are responsible for
everything dealing with a school from the teaching staff to managing the school budget. I believe
all the New Hampshire principal competencies are important and meaningful to every school leader.
The New Hampshire competencies are important and meaningful to every schoolleader because
they are designed to help guide principals in the right direction, and they should all be reviewed
and followed. I believe effective school leaders should know the following; stage one: educational
leadership, stage two: school culture and instructional programs, stage four: school and community,
and stage five: integrity and ethics.
I feel stage one sets the stage

Aristotle And Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism is the idea that best moral path possible at all times is one that benefits the greatest
amount of people. In other words, Utilitarianism operates under the doctrine that supports the
greater good and maximizes happiness. It does not require or virtuous figure to follow, for it based
purely upon reducing human suffering. It is sometimes called consequentialism because it is based
on the idea that the best action is what produces the best consequences. They reduce suffering. you
can have different actions that lead to good outcomes and they can all be good.
Aristotle came up with the virtue theory. The virtue theory, on the other hand, states that an action
is moral if it is what virtuous being would do. In this way, less emphasis is placed upon specific
rules or laws that clearly define moral actions, and more is placed on what constitutes a good
person. Although there is not a clear line in the virtue theory of what is rational and what is not, it
is `often up to common sense to determine what is an admirable trait and what is not. A virtuous
person does not let their emotions control them and inhibit them from doing what they know to be
right. This part is important: their heart must be in the right place at all times. there should be no
difference between what they should do and what they want to do. Examining right is wrong in
terms of the virtue theory is often very cumulative in the sense that an individual action is judged
based on whether or not it contributes to overall mortality. actions in general arent really the main
focus. actions are a representation of ones overall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A virtuous being has an entire set of good character traits. Character traits aren t simply things that
you do, but actions that are engrained in you and are often your first instinct. Utilitarianism is an
ethics of conduct while virtue ethics are of

Analysis Of James Baldwin s The Great Gatsby
When individuals hold hatred in their minds, they will be more aggressive to others, especially
to the higher level authority. In James Baldwin s story, he is not happy with the white people s
power. He is full of the hatred. When he purposely went to the non colour restaurant, he tries to
challenge the higher levels. Baldwin writes, I pretended not to have understood her, hoping to
draw her closer ... I realized that she would never come any closer and that I would have to strike
from a distance. He wants to know why the whites are the stronger group, why the whites can
destroy his hopes. However, when he found out the whites are weaker than him but still having
more powers, he turns his hatred into violence. Baldwin writes, I picked this up and hurled it with
all my strength at her. She ducked and it missed her and shattered against the mirror behind the bar.
He is angry and being violence, and those violence comes out from his hates. When people looking
down on him, his despairs bitterness and hatred make him wantto get the respects from the higher
authority. He was waiting for the higher authority to throw him out, but the reality makes him
even more upset. Relating to the cops in the Freddie Gray, the reason of their aggressiveness is
also about getting respects. The policemen who worked at inner city will afraid of local
community. Those policemen has despair and bitterness inside of them, because they can be in
dangerous by just going to the work. They work at

Susan B Anthony Women s Rights Movement
For decades, the fight for women s rights has been a constant struggle in a male dominated
American society. During the early 1800s, women s traditional roles included providing for the
household, such as educating and raising their children. At this time, women were not given the
right to own property or vote, and they had very minimal economic independence. However,
throughout the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era, a time of business expansion and social
reforms, the women s civil rights movement had escalated due to the actions of many influential
figures and reform groups. One of the most substantial women of the time was Susan B.Anthony,
who led the National WomanSuffrage Association (often abbreviated as NWSA). The equal rights
movement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the social adversities, the law worked in favor of women during multiple important court
cases such as Roe v. Wade, which sought to ensure a woman s right to abortion. However, during
the rise of conservatism in the late 1900s, opposers such as Phyllis Schlafly attempted to halt the
movement with her STOP ERA campaign. Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative activist, was credited
with almost single handedly stopping the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (Sullivan,
Patricia. Phyllis Schlafly, a Conservative Activist, Has Died at Age 92. The Washington Post, WP
Company). The Equal Rights Amendment was proposed by the National Women s Political Party
in 1923 and was intended to ensure equality of men and women and prohibit discrimination.
Furthermore, the backlash against feminism was prevalent through Susan Faludi s book, The
Undeclared War Against American Women, in 1991 that detailed the defeat of the Equal Rights
Amendment; the rise of the antiabortion movement, (a medical procedure legalized in a historic
1973 Supreme Court ruling); increased incidences of on the job sexual harassment and
discrimination; and income disparity ( The Reagan Years: 1980s: Advancement Backlash for

The Aging Of Youth In The 1930 s At The San Gabriel Ranch
Over the years, his memory became crowded with cobwebs and dust. Faces of the travelers he
guided slowly faded like the photographs in his leather trunk, but occasionally wander back to
him in dreams. His elderly face, a tan leather after years of the scorching Southwest sun looking
down upon him in the Grand Canyon, still shows signs of vitality. To him, the aging of his body is
happily nostalgic, reflecting his youth during the 1920 s and 1930 s at the San Gabriel Ranch.
Anyone who knows Sandy can describe him to you in two words: kind and witty. An instance of
this, one he often accidently repeats to his grandchildren, is when he found Georgia O Keeffe
examining rocks in a riverbed. She remarked about the beauty of particular stone while he made a
comment about them all being the same. Sandy and Georgia became friends over the years, as she
stayed at the San Gabriel Dude Ranch for an extended period of time.
Other friendships were kindled because of Sandy s humorous personality, such as his relationships
with his Hispanic neighbors. Some of the families were illiterate, and Sandy read their letters from
their families and friends to them. However, they were in Spanish; the neighbors found it humorous

Margaret and Sandy had to sleep on the floor with only blankets and pillows. Every day, Sandy

to which he replied No. Finally, after weeks of sleeping on the tile, he plead in desperation, What

All Quiet On The Western Front, German World War I
World War I differed from previous wars in the essence that technological sophistication of
weaponry such as artillery, poison gas and machine guns created a vehement war with a massive
number of casualties. In the novel All Quiet on the Western Front, German World War I veteran
Erich Maria Remarque delineates the experiences that German soldiers face on the restless front,
and the toll that the physical conditions and the mental stress take on the deterioration of the youth
of each soldierbattling on the terrain. Remarque s warnovelstrays away from the romantic and
glorifying thought of war in order to emphasize the hardships war forced upon the men who
fought for their country. The weapons that are in the hands of the men on the front lines become
their livelihood, and the terrain of the battle are the only things separating a common man and a
man marked by the scars of war. At some point, war no longer becomes a fight between enemies
from two different countries, it becomes a battle between one s self and the urge to resist barbaric
and animalistic acts when in dire situations. A wide variety of new advanced and manufactured
weapons altered the way soldiers regarded battle and the land where they would engage. Life on
the front forced German soldiers to come face to face with petrifying weapons that can critically
injured, or even kill, one within a matter of seconds. Words such as mines, gas, tanks, machine guns,
hand grenades, bombardment, barrage and curtain fire

Research Paper On Europa s Gravity
remember asking my team members why we did not need to calculate as much for the return trip
thinking about the moon Europa s gravity?
Of course, it is a factor but the gravity of earth compared to Europa is very different (Europa s
gravity is very like our moon, which is 5/6 less than earth s gravity). A team member responded.
The escape velocity (4) (the velocity required for an object to leave the gravitational field) to leave
earth was one that my space craft needed to beat in order for my mission to be a success. (the
escape velocity for earth is 11.2 km/s) The escape velocity takes in account the gravitational force,
the mass of the object, and the radius (the distance of from the center of the earth) (the escape
velocity is the sum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Back on earth I loved to spend time in the gym to work out. This not only made my muscles
healthy but it was a good distraction from the realities of my classes in college, my jobs after
college, and other things. Working out also gave me a healthy mindset, which is perfect for
travelling in space. Looking out the window into space was truly mesmerizing. Seeing the infinite
darkness with specs of light from the stars gave me a whole new perspective. My first mission in
space was a six month stay on the International Space Station. From the ISS I could see an
amazing sunrise, but this new mission made me feel so disconnected from my home. Travelling
where no man has ever gone gave me new inspiration and courage.
As my destination approached I began to refresh my studies on Europa. Europa is a moon (11)
(a celestial body that orbits around a planet) (Jupiter has 63 moons) (moons can also be
described as a natural satellite) of the Galilean family orbiting Jupiter. Europa is similar in the
size of the earth s moon but slightly smaller (Europa s mass 4.8 * 10^22 kg compared to the
moon 7.3*10^22 kg). The surface is fairly new due to the lack of crater impacts. The surface has
many crevices and cracks making it look like glaciers compressing and stretching. This is what
brought scientists so curious. The stretching due to

Milky Way Report
Home to Earth Our Earth is part of the galaxy known as the Milky Way. Astronomers for centuries
have pointed their telescopes toward the Milky Way trying to discover the mysteries the galaxy
holds.
The white light that one can see is known to be the origin of our solar system. Milky Way galaxy is
a gravitational bound system consisting of stars, stellar remnants, an interstellar medium of gas
and dust, and dark matter. It was named after the milk because of its appearance. It happen to look
as a dim glowing arching across the night sky that can only be seen by the telescope. The Milky

The Milky Way was first determined by Galileo Galilei with his telescope in 1610. Thanks to
Galileo because before the use of his telescope, the formation of stars was a confusion to most
astronomers. With the use of a telescope, Galileo studied the Milky Way and discovered that it
was composed of a huge number of faint stars. There was a confusion on stars. Until 1920,
astronomers thought that all stars were contained inside of the Milky Way. After Galileo s
telescope, other astronomers became more creative on understanding that the Milky Way is just
one of many galaxies now known to be billions. The Milky Way contains more than one planet
like the solar system which is located within the disk. The solar system is located on the
constellation of gas and dust called the Orion Arm (Wikipedia contributors). We are located in the

Sexual Dysfunctions
I found chapters nine, ten, and eleven very engaging as there was many new topics I learned about
that were new to me. It was very stunning to learn about statistics, the many disorders and the many
options there are out there in regards to treatments. The four specific topics that stood out to me as
valuable fascinating, and surprising was the topic on sexual dysfunctions in chapter nine, the topics
on substances abuse and use statistics and treatments options of substance related disorders in
chapter ten, and the topic on cluster A personality disordersin chapter eleven. Chapter nine had a
topic of discussion on sexual dysfunctions that I found to be thought provoking and have valuable
information as many of these dysfunctions were new... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One cluster A personality disorder is paranoid personality disorder. People who have paranoid
personality disorder without justification are highly suspicious and mistrustful of other people
and assume people are out to trick or harm them which leads them to not confide in other people.
Treatment of paranoid personality disorder is unlikely to occur unless crisis occurs because they
are unlikely to seek help due to their mistrust of others. Schizoid personality disorder is another
cluster A personality disorder which is where a person shows a pattern of detachment from social
relationships as well as a limited range of emotions among interpersonal circumstances. People
with schizoid personality disorder tend to be seen as cold and indifferent of other people.
Fascinatingly, homelessness is seen as widespread with people who have schizoid personality
disorder and this is believed to be due to their lack of close friendships and lack of dissatisfaction
about not having sexual relationships with others. Treatment is also uncommon among people with
schizoid personality disorder unless a crisis event occurs. However, treatment regularly begins with
therapists highlighting the importance of social relationships and may even teach the emotions that
are felt by other people in order to teach empathy. Schizotypal personality disorder is another

China s Act For The Internationalization Goal Of Renminbi
The definition of international and reserve currency is a common currency unit which is used to
settle and invoice the transaction between the country s issue and other countries or other and other.

The Development History Of Gis Essay
Essay on the development history of GIS Introduction This essay is about the development
history of GIS (Geographical Information System). In the next paragraph the work of Charles
Piquet in 1832 and John Snow in 1854 is mentioned. Furthermore the paragraph traces the
development history between 1960 and 2014. It lists the development history from the
Canadian GIS through the development of GPS until the launch of French satellite SPOT 7.The
following paragraph defines the four major development periods, each with two either general
examples or examples from different countries. The next Paragraph lists the most recent
developments in GIS application, e.g. XML and GML, and explains why these mark up
languages are important for a GIS. It also mentions the development of mobile GIS and how
even a newcomer can learn how GIS works with Learn ArcGIS. Finally a conclusion summarises
the essay briefly. Development history of GIS The following paragraph shows the development
history of GIS. The development of GIS started probably in France, with the geographer Charles
Picquet when he applied spatial analysis in epidemiology ( History of GIS , 2012) in 1832. But
the first geographical method to specify a cholera outbreak was used by John Snow in 1854.
Although map making is far older than Charles Picquet and John Snow, were their works
milestones in the history of GIS ( History of GIS , 2012).The following are examples which
affected the development of GIS between 1960 until 2014:

New Place Research Paper
New Place
Going to a new place was my great experience for learning coping skills, for developing self
discipline, and making friends. When I was about nine years old, I was a troubled boy. As a
fourth grader, I went to an elementary school in my small village. However, I grew up without
supervision because my father, as a soldier, was often deployed far away from home. After school
times, I hung around with other undisciplined boys in our neighborhood, and was influenced by
neighbor boys misbehaviors. I ran into mischief. Fortunately, my mother believed in Catholic
schools. She saved my life by sending me to a providing Catholic Church school, very far from

Edward The Black Prince Research Paper
Edward, Prince of Wales, was also commonly known as the Black Prince. He is one of the
greatest leaders in battle, most prominent figures in history, and outstanding role model of
chivalry. Born into a weak and divided country Edward was able to overcome obstacles and
flourish throughout his life as the years went on. Throughout Edwards life, many obstacles
tested him in numerous ways. These ranged from situations in battles to such important decision
making at such a young age. Yet, these obstacles are what molded him into being the leader he
had eventually become over the years. His father Edward III was a big influence in guiding him
throughout his life whether he realized it or not. If it wasn t for this guidance and trust in his
son, Black Prince may not of been who he eventually became. On the 15th, June 1330, Edward,
who was the oldest son of Edward III, was born at the Royal Palace of Woodstock in Oxfordshire.
He was named after his father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His mother was Phillipa of

Paper Airplane Challenges
Working with a new team can be a challenging effort as is; however, working with a team who
was constantly required to join other teams can place a strain on team dynamics to an even
further extent. Composed of only three individuals, working effectively together was often a very
difficult task for my team, as we were repeatedly obligated to join other groups throughout
activities. This put pressure on not only our team but others as no one was familiar with the team
dynamics of each group except for the members of that team. This was most noticeable during the

As this newly formed team had to spend a portion of its time developing and maintaining the
dynamics of a new team, rather than being productive and focused on the task is an example of
the process loss concept of team challenges (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015) This concept of
process loss then escalated as joining a group late results in a longer time spent on understanding
how these new members would transition well with the current ones (McShane, Steen, Tasa,
2015). Combining with other groups also introduced the notion of social loafing which is defined
as the process in which individuals are seemingly less motivated when working in teams and will
exert less effort compared if they were working alone (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015). This concept
was especially apparent for the airplane activity as we now had a team that consisted of six

resulted which was noticeable when some individuals would not participate and others not would

Federalist Party Viewpoints
Throughout the duration of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, America s citizens became
separated in their political views. Citizens who preferred constraint upon the powers of the state
along with a strong central government represented the Federalist Party. Framing the basis of the
government and economy, Federalists enhanced the prevalence of foreign policies while shaping
the national judicial system. This essay will provide a comprehensive, detailed synopsis of the
political perspectives and viewpoints of the members of the Federalist Party. Using primary sources
and content analysis, this essay will discuss what the Federalist Party believed about the role of the
government and the reasoning behind why they adopted their views. The Federalist Party

Furthermore, the stability of the new national/federal government was dependent on creation of a
particular distance from the direct voice of the citizens (McDonald 1905, p. 28). The moment they
became elected into office, legislators were to be free from any popular pressure. Members of the
Federalist Party also believed that the government was safest when controlled by peop¬¬le
know as independent, which typically implied individuals of wealth as well as social standing. In
the 1780s, members of the Federalist Party believed that state governments posed a threat to the
republican government, given that they were indebted to voters who made adjustments in officials
and demanded that the government serve local, narrow interests (History 2012, p. 3). The
Federalists, in any number of policies, from the organization of the federal courts to the funding of
the national debt, anticipated the expansion of the national government s power, with no regard to

Nightfall Brings Panic
It seems that when night falls, the mind appears to go into a state of panic. Nighttime brings to
mind many horror movies scenario. Well they do when you re in the middle of nowhere, with a
couple of friends and a machete. At least in my mind that s what happened. A state of pure terror
seems to sink in, and I believe the worst scenario that a random stranger is coming inside my tent
and slaughtering me while I m asleep. To begin with, when the day started, it seemed that the
scenery was beautiful and peaceful. It appeared that the same place can have a different
perspective at the drop of the sun. I had never gone camping; it always seemed like a fun thing to
do with the right people. My friends wanted to celebrate my seniority and almost graduating,
since they were in college themselves, and knew how important senior year of high school was.
We were thinking of going on a road trip somewhere far from Fresno. We joked for a bit about
going camping, and then it just seemed to happen. The whole ride there we all seemed happy
with chatter, catching up on our gossip. In total we were three girls and two guys. Once we
arrived I could smell the deep aura of pine and green woods. The trees were basked in sun,
giving of a cool shade; the branches of the trees seemed to follow the movements of the silent
breeze that passed. Birds seem to fly by slowly almost lazily, there chirping heard from a distant
as they passed. As soon as that tent was up I went on a walk to go exploring.

Mandrill Morphology
Mandrills, or also known by their scientific name Mandrillus sphinx, live in the rain forests of
equatorial Africa, (San Diego Balboa Zoo, Mandrill exhibit/plaques, 2018). The Mandrill
Morphology: The mandrill has a distinct dental formula of 2:1:2:3, located on the maxilla and
mandible, which categorizes this primate to be in the catarrhine parvorder. All Old World
monkeys, apes, and humans share this very same 2.1.2.3 dental formula. They are well known
for their enormous canine teeth, which can be over 2 inches, roughly 5 centimeters long. Each
tooth is vital for the madrills survival, the pointed canines are used to pierce and tear at fruits or
nuts meanwhile the premolars (or bicuspids) and molars, with their multiple cusps, are used to
grind and smash food (The Primates: Monkeys, 2013). There are very distinct differences between
the male and female Mandrills, especially in this exhibit. An adult male mandrill that has the
brightest and most distinctive colors on his face seems to be most attractive to females...They have

religious teachings and this grew in Germany. After years of battling for religious reforms, a new
religion was formed named Lutheranism. Between 1524 and 1526, German peasants began to

serfdom and corrupt leaders in the Holy Roman Empire, and both positive and negative responses

Unsightly Pool Deck
An unsightly pool deck affects the look of your entire back yard. Not only does it make the pool
look old and worn, but also takes away from all adjacent patios, decks, and landscaping. A new
pool deck will give your backyard new life, and make your pool look new again. Homeowners
have several options and styles to choose from for their new pool deck. An outright replacement
is an option for a pool deck in disrepair. This comes with the task of ripping the old pool deck out,
excavating, and replacing with new concrete. This is a costly undertaking and comes with the risk
of damaging the pool itself. Many homeowners opt to leave their pool deck as is when faced with

St Basil s Cathedral Essay
At the end of the Byzantine period of art and the beginning of the Romanesque era of architecture
and painting, the effects of the period could be seen all across Europe. The main focus of the
period was buildings of religious significance, structures like Katholikon and the Hagia Sofia. An
area that adopted the style later than the rest of Europe was that of modern day Russia. This was due
in part to the city of Constantinople being conquered, and as a result the seat of Christianity moved
north (Byzantine Lecture, Curtis). Though Russia may have adopted the style, many of its
structures of the time follow a unique style greatly influenced by its long history and geography,
with aspects of Byzantine buildings injected into it. One structure that exemplifies the Russian
style is that of Saint Basil s Cathedral in Russia s capital city of Moscow. Saint Basil s Cathedral is

Increased size of ventricles has been observed in MRI of a schizophrenic person. One possible
explanation to enlarged ventricles could have occurred during neurodevelopment causing the illness

It is involved with a person s movement, thoughts, wellbeing as well as their feelings of pleasure
(Veaugue, 2007).According to the dopamine hypothesis, when high levels of dopamine are found
in the mesolimbic and when low levels of dopamine found in the prefrontal cortex, symptoms of
schizophrenia will occur. When the cortical pathway through the nucleus accumbens is disturbed,
there will be an increase subcortical release of dopamine, which in turn causes the D2 receptor to
be activated. This process will result in positive symptoms of schizophrenia forming. The reduction
of the D1 receptor found in the prefrontal cortex together with the decrease of activity in the
nucleus caudatus will cause negative symptoms of schizophrenia (dopamine). The dopamine
hypothesis is the most accepted hypothesis, yet scientists are still unsure of why there is an excess
of dopamine in the body (article 1?).Glutamate is another neurotransmitter that could possibly be a
causing factor in schizophrenia. Glutamate helps with learning as well as the encoding of memory.
A schizophrenic person will have a lower amount of Glutamate in their body. Dopamine as well as
Halucinatnic drugs PCP block the glutamate receptor sites, lowering the amount of Glutamate in

the king of Tiryns and had a reputation for being mean. Hercules knew the king would give him a

Hercules did receive some good news from Apollo. He told Hercules that after these tasks were
completed, Hercules would become immortal. Unlike other men, he would become a god.
The 12 Labors Of Hercules
THE NEMEAN LION When Hercules arrived at the palace of King Eurystheus, his first task
was to bring the king the skin of a lion which terrorized the hills around Nemea. When Hercules
arrived at Nemea, he tracked the lion to a cave with 2 entrances. His arrows were useless against
the beast. Hercules decided to block one of the doorways and then approach the fierce lion through
the other. Grasping the lion in his mighty arms, Hercules held it tightly until the lion choked to
death. Hercules then returned to Mycenae, carrying the dead lion in his arms. King Eurystheus
was amazed that Hercules was able to accomplish this task. From this point on, the king became
afraid of Hercules and forbade him from entering the city. The king also began sending his
commands through a herald, refusing to see the hero face to face.

Roosevelt s Good neighbor policy was a non intervention policy that aims to promote good
relationship with Latin America and solidify Latin American support through avoiding Military
intervention of US to Latin America, but instead using a much more peaceful tone. This is
important as it clearly shows that Roosevelt was not a staunch isolationist as the reason he want
to maintain a good relationship with Latin is due to fear towards the conflict in Europe, so from
this it could be seen that Roosevelt is actually preparing for intervention to war and is seeking for
ways to gain more support and Latin American is one of it. In addition in August 1935, Roosevelt
had also signed the Neutrality Act; a law that was designed to keep the United States out of a
possible European war by banning shipment of war materiel to belligerents at the discretion of
the President. This is important as despite aware of the rise of totalitarism, Roosevelt didn t

5.)Delay the brand release date
The final item up for discussion is the date of going live with the rebrand. I have had discussion
with Jan, Michelle, and Judy as to the status of several key materials needed to facilitate a
successful launch of the new brand. The original date we had discussed was Feb. 29th, after
speaking with Jan in regards to the media release I am proposing that we change the Brand

key materials have been produced and are in house. Also in speaking with Jan s contact for the

by all parties involved. Again this is my recommendation and is up for debate among the group.

Stylistic Devices In The Lottery
The Unexpected Game When readers hear the word lottery, winning prizes comes to mind.
However, Shirley Jackson s short story, The Lottery, creates an unexpected event in a not so
ordinary town. In the story, the townspeople gather once a year to decide who must be the
important sacrifice that helps save the town s crops. Whomever is the chosen one, will be killed by
stones. Jackson uses creative stylistic devices such as irony, foreshadowing, and point of view to
add suspense throughout the story. Shirley Jacksonuses irony to grasp one s attention. While reading
the story, The Lottery, readers assume what may happen in the next scene, but a twist soon takes
place. For instance, the readers do not expect anything unusual about the stones other than kids
playing around. Jackson creates the readers thought by saying, Soon the women, standing by
their husbands, began to call in their children, and the children came reluctantly, having to be
called four or five times. Bobby Martin ducked under his mother s grasping hand and ran,
laughing, back to the pile of stones (Jackson,1). Soon after reading further into the story, readers
find out the children s stones will actually be used on own of their own neighbors not for fun and
games. Likewise, readers imagine a beautiful day when reading, The morning of June 27th was

Appeasement In The 1930 s
In the 1930 s, Britain and France widely pursued the idea of the policy of Appeasement. This
policy was between these two countries and Germany which, at the time, was led by Hitler and his
communist ideals. Appeasement refers to the policy in which both Britain and France submitted to
Hitler s negotiation proposals in an attempt to compromise on terms and ultimately avoid war.
Appeasement can be describes, as a bully getting his/her way because of the power he/she holds
over someone who is willing to do anything to get them off of their chest.
During the course of the 1930 s, Hitler and his army were able to bypass many laws set in place by
the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles was signed on 8 June 1919 as a peace settlement
between Germany and France, Britain and Italy that had ended World War One. The Treaty stated
that Germany was to accept blame for World War One as well as get rid of most of their armed
forces, they were also expected to give up some territory to France.
Many saw the Treaty of Versailles as too harsh of a policy on Germany and that Germany should
have been treated more fairly, this is why Britain and France did not show any signs of objection
when Hitler moved his increasing number of navy troops into Rhineland on 1936.
Appeasement was an attempt to avoid a war and so Britain and France would often turn their heads
and allow Hitler to breach the policy of the Treaty in attempt to satisfy him and thus maintain peace
between the powers.

The Israeli Palestinian Conflict And The Northern Ireland
The Israeli Palestinian conflict and the Northern Ireland case had many similar elements in
conflict drivers and elements that gave rise to conflict; however ,the two cases also had differing
salient points. The Israelis were a diasporic community while the Ulsters in Northern Ireland were a
minority group living on their own land. The Palestinian and Israeli saw each other as more of a
threat than the unionist and nationalists saw each other in Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland
crisis did not threaten the existence of England while the PLO had motive to destroy Israel. These
were some of the several differing factors that accounted for this variation in outcome; however the
main issue was threat and incentive. The actors in the Good Friday Agreement had more incentive,
or less threat in accepting the agreement. Actors in the Oslo negotiations believed that was more
threat for Israel Palestineto integrate. Also, there were significant gaps in goals and incentives they
had. An attempt to understand the failure of the Oslo process can be explained with a Realist lens.

Persuasive Essay On Teenage Driving
Driving down the highway, heading to the movies with three of your best friends in the car
singing along to your favorite song; what better way to spend a Friday night. The car in front of
you slams on their breaks; but you didn t notice, you were looking over at your friend, singing
and laughing. Suddenly, the lives of four teenagers hang in the balance, dependent on the skill
and reaction time of one inexperienced teen driver. This scenario is far too common when
reviewing the safety of teenage drivers. Currently, Florida is one of five states in the country
that has no restriction on the number of teenage passengers in a car driven by a teenage driver (
Teenagers ). As adults, parents, and members of our community, we need to band together and
encourage Florida lawmakers to impose restrictions on the number of passengers under the age
of 20 in vehicles driven by teenage drivers. By doing so we not only protect the safety of our
children but also innocent passengers and fellow motorists. Fourteen states, including Georgia,
Indiana, West Virginia, and California prohibit any passengers under the age of twenty for the
first six months of driving and lessen the restriction, allowing one passenger under the age of
twenty after that ( Teenagers ). Statistics on teenage driving accidents and deaths are alarming.
According to 2012 statistics released by the National Center for Health Statistics, 60% of
passenger vehicle deaths were teens ages 13 19, 54% of the deaths of teenage

Function: Quadratic Function Instructor: Jaya Kumar A. Introduction: Quadratic is the function
that is used for a squared degree. In this function its graph is called a parabola. The graph of all
quadratic function is called a parabola its shape is basically a U shape it might be transformed or
reflected or inversed witch might change the shape in some cases The simplest quadratic function
is: y(x)=X^2 Furthermore, the general form to the quadratic function is y=г Ђ–axгЂ—^2+bx+c=0
In any case where a quadratic function cannot be solved the quadratic formula is used x=(
bВ±в€ љ(b^2 4ac))/2a The Quadratic Inverse: y(x)=в€ љx... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The equation of the reflected graph is y=г Ђ– (x)гЂ—^2 Example: y(x)=г Ђ– (2x 3)гЂ—^2+1 C.
Combination of all transformations with its inverse: Basic Function: y= 1/2 (2x 4)^2+2 Inverse
Function: y(x)=2В±в€ љ(2 x)/в€љ2 Full Graph including basic function its inverse and y = x D.
Real life situation Quadratic Function A ball shot can be made using the equation y=
0.гЂ–0281xгЂ—^2+2x+10 , Where x is distance traveled (in feet) and y is the height (also in feet).
How long was the throw? First we apply the quadratic formula x=( 2В±в€ љ(2^2 ) 4( 0.281Г—10))
/(2( 0.0281)) x=75.9 ft x= 4.7 y=10 E. Summary Although quadratic functions do not seem difficult
but it is related to most fields in science and examples can be made by any shape or act that might
represent the form of a parabola. Including, there are more complex polynomials than the quadratic
but it seems that this function is the best introduction to functions and there graphs. Recourses

Yimou Zhang s Hero
In late 2002 the Oscar nominated Chinese Wuxia film Hero directed by Yimou Zhang hit cinemas
all over China before spreading internationally over the next few years. Yimou Zhang presented this
tale that presents the legendary reign of the Qin Emperor and a nameless hero played by Jet Li
tasked to assassinate the emperor. Zhang is known for creating films that present the rich Chinese
history. This filmis no exception. The film presents the culture of Chinaduring the Qin Dynasty
through many different components. The costume, setting and music present the time period
perfectly. Yimou also uses colour as symbolism in the film to present major plot points. As well
as symbolising a part of a scene, for instance pink for love during the sex scene and red later on as
death. As shown throughout the film, two of the characters Broken Sword and Flying Snow are
both dressed in red hanfu robes which are a rich component in the progression of... Show more

Their traditional instruments create the mood of the film, having some of the best musical scores
that I ve heard in a film. Zhangs use of instrumental music throughout his scenes create a sense of
intensity and mood. At the beginning of the scene the music starts with a soft tune and slowly
increase in volume as Broken Sword walked through the hall ways. The scene used more of a
strings melody that created a calmer, more intimate scene. This is then followed by a dynamic
transition into the following fighting scene. As the film progresses though the fighting scenes, the
score evolves into a more epic and intense melody which uses the sounds of objects in movement,
accompanied by a percussion that creates an intense mood, and the soft vocals of a female to
create a more elegant melody. Dun Tan, the composer of the score used more traditional forms of
instruments to create a feeling of immersion in the time period chosen. The music is one of the
strongest elements in the film really creating the

future to secure the death of their human patients. Screwtape typically characterizes humanity as
being foolish. He thinks his strategies can easily manage the humans and can change their entire
life. At beginning of the book, Screwtape explains the difficulties that human faces in their lives.
Because humans have free will, they constantly make decisions between good and evil, or between
God and Satan. Since humans free will makes them weak and prone to temptation, Screwtape

Poetic Analysis Of The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes
Poetic Analysis of The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes Langston Hughes was truly able to make
a name for himself through the reaction he gained from creating the revolutionary collection of
poems The Weary Blues in 1926 where this poem with the same title can be found. During this time,
the world was in turmoil and Hughes had just immersed himself in the Harlem renaissancescene. All
the rules were changing around him so, why not in poems too. He decided to take an entirely new
approach to poetryby breaking standard rules of poems and adopting the jazz and urban bluesrules
which were more like a recommendation of rules rather than graved in stone. Hughes had a basic
rhythm and varied it to fit the words or change the mood of his poems. Sometimes he spelled words
to match the way that real people talk. It was refreshing compared to the stuffy, rigid poetry that had
been seen before, written in free verse with an irregular rhyme scheme, mimicking the natural
patterns of speech and music.
In the opening two lines Hughes decided to use a tactic that left the reader in the dark, guessing
what he is talking about. The only element one can decipher is that he is talking about music by
the terminology being used; words such as syncopated tune // croon , the long O sounds of
droning and drowsy which mimic yawning. The sense of music can also be observed by the ever
present varying rhythm, a rocking back and forth feeling replicating the flow of a gentle blues.

The Rich Brother By Tobias Wolff
Words in the English language can have numerous definitions and connotations; the term rich is
no different than the rest. The first definition most people think of when they hear the word rich
is having loads of money, which is exactly what Pete has in The Rich Brother by Tobias Wolff.
This definition of rich and the title of the story lead many readers to assume that Pete is rich and
his brother Donald is poor, but this is not necessarily the case. A person can also be rich because
they supply a large amount of something that is needed, such as love or forgiveness. After further
analysis and a different view of the definition of rich, it is discovered that Donald is in fact, the rich
brother, not the monetarily rich Pete. Pete may

Impact Of Globalization On The World
Introduction:
Globalization is a movement that evolves over time. It heavily involves trade and business that
builds relationships with border countries and overseas. Technology is a critical part of
globalization as it involves connecting people in many ways. The number of minutes spent on
cross border telephone calls, on a per capita basis increased from 7.3 in 1991 to 28.8 in 2006
(IMF Staff, p. 271). The growth of technology has made it possible for people to connect almost
instantaneously. Snapchat, Skype, and FaceTime allow people to have live conversations from far
distances. Sharing information and ideas allows for innovations. Many opportunities can occur
from globalization such as growth in Capita, better health care systems, advancement in technology.
Analysis:
Global trade enables different countries to share their products and resources. There is not a single
nation in the world that has all the resources to self sustain itself. Across the world, developed
nations can have the technology for innovation but lack the necessary resources. Developing
nations such as Latin American and African countries have the resources but need investment.
Trade can be beneficial to both members of the party in this instance. The WTO and WHO are
organizations that helps a lot with globalization. People can share their expertise in many different
diverse settings. In times such as war, resources in a country may run low and require other nations
for assistance. Often, women

needs to be more focus on the foster care system and child homelessness. Children should not be

Teachings of Life Through the River Essay
My father was always a man of infinite knowledge for those willing to listen. Unbeknownst to
him, his knowledge extends beyond what he has to teach. For example, when asked how to clean
a fish, he goes through the process in great detail. From where the incision is made to de scaling
the fish, he would always emphasize the care, attention to the smallest detail. With every lesson, the
majority of his teachings show how no matter how long the task, any person will always have
enough time to finish what they set out to do. As with most aspects of life the same principles apply.
The most memorable time of my life was my father s ecstatic look when I said I would love to
learn how to fly fish. When camping as a child of eight years old, my ... Show more content on

I, of course, had never been given a decision so great nor an opportunity so bold. Seeing that my
mouth was stuck in a half opened semi circle expression, he finally picked a place for me as I was
too paralyzed to make my lips move. His words, by far, were much sweeter than any of mine could
ever be. In a stern, proud voice, he trumpeted, Let s go fly fishing in the Colorado River. Not sure
of what region he meant, my father pointed out on the map The Grand Canyon. I was beside
myself with unkempt joy. Of course, the location, by itself was only half of the excitement. My
father later elaborated further into details of the trip. He told me we would be camping on the
river s shore for an entire week. Nothing could have prepared me for this journey s unaltered beauty.
After arriving at the river s mouth, we promptly shoved off the mucky shore. Against the current,
we trekked up the powerful Colorado River, slowly, in our little tin motorboat. Eventually, we
landed in a place called Lees Ferry. In the daytime, the only beauty the great canyon had to offer
was its monolithic red walls. Towards sunset, the real beauty emerged. The bank of the river
slowly started to fill will all kinds of small insects. As each bug lit on the water, a trout
appropriately held its own place in the food chain. The river s edge soon erupted in a cacophony of
trout jumping through the surface to retrieve its meal for the evening. Simply

Odysseus and Penelope Essay
Odysseus and Penelope
Odysseus and Penelope are the best two example of what it really means to be human because of
their great courage to overcome all obstacles for a greater cause. There is not one true definition on
what it means to be human, but the most knowledgeable definition of human is to be created in the
image of God. The attributes that really set humans apart from all the other animals on earth are
imagination, reason, and will. These three human faculties make us who we are because we have
the ability to counter plate our own mortality. Dr. Davis stated, You cannot love another person
without imagination You have to first realize what their desires are and what they want in life. The
most critical aspect of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In book five Odysseus is presented with a very great and tempting barrier. Calypso confronts him
with this statement, But if you only knew, down deep, what pains are fated to fill your cup before
you reach that shore, you d stay right here, preside in our house with me and be immortal. She
promised him that he would possess a trait that no other human in the odyssey has, immortality.
Even though her offers are very tempting and would be self fulfilling, he promptly rejects because
all he wants is to go home and the love of his life, Penelope. This act alone shows that he was
willing to give himself and up for a greater cause. He showed great discipline and faithfulness to
reject Calypso s offer and to continue on his journey home. At the beginning of the epic,
Odysseus did have one flaw that could have been detrimental to his homecoming journey and
that was self glorification. By the end of the Odyssey, Odysseus overcame his pride and
tempered it with patience because at the end of the day he didn t really know that Penelope
would be waiting on him, but he was willing to put in the effort to find out what was at the end of
the road. Penelope, just as Odysseus, portrayed the great human trait of patience. She did what it
took to fend off the suitors with hope that her husband would come back for her. Penelope didn t
give up hope because she felt in heart that Odysseus would come
