INTRODUCTION
In 1884, Danish Physician Hans Christian Gram was in the process of developing a
staining procedure that would potentially differentiate prokaryotic (mainly bacterial
cells) and eukaryotic nuclei in tissue samples. However, Gram was not effective in
developing the differential tissue stain, his derived work would serve as the most
valuable differential stain in bacteriology, the Gram stain (1). Moreover, it soon
became clear that most bacteria could be catorgorized into two major groups based
upon their response to the Gram staining procedure. Gram positive bacteria stained
purple, whereas Gram negative bacteria stained a pink red (2).
Complete structures of Gram positive and Gram negative cells were not differentiable
until the development of the transmission electron microscope. Gram positive
bacteria comprise of a singular, 20 80nm thick homogenous layer of peptidoglycan

It will cover all the iterations of the creation process as well as any finding I
discovered throughout.

Design and Implementation
As this was my first iteration of the project it was important that I implemented all
the basic functionality required to aid the transition to its more complex nature. I
started off by following the same design pattern as described in my initial interface
design storyboards. However, upon implementing the colour scheme I realised that
the original pastel colours did not suit the style or lay out of the application. In
general it just didn t look appealing.

Sergeant Bergdahl, Desertion

Desertion is one of the many serious offenses in the military and soldiers who
commit this crime will receive the highest form of punishment. Sergeant Berghdal
is guilty of desertion due to his actions of leaving his platoon, being captured and
tortured by the Taliban for 5 years, and having other American soldiers lose their
lives trying to rescue him. The rescue of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl was all over the
news as people were very frustrated and angry at him for his crime. In an article
from Richard Oppel Jr. from the NY Times, on December 14, 2015, stated that A
top Army commander on Monday ordered that Sgt. Bowe Berghdal face a court
martial on charges of desertion and endangering troops stemming from his decision
to leave his outpost in 2009 (nytimes). Berghdal s crime of breaking the laws of the
uniform code of military justice (UCMJ) from pertaining to desertion and absent
without official leave (AWOL) due to his disappearance from his operating base in
Afghanistan. The Sgt. may have already been punished severely from the Taliban but
he did commit a serious crime in the United States and he must due the time. What is
desertion? From dictionary.com it states desertion as an act of leaving military
service or duty without the intention of returning. ( dictionary.com ). In the UCMJ
Article 85, desertion is Without authority, goes or remains absent

Analysis Of The House Of The Scorpion
In the story, The House of the Scorpion were so many amazing cliff hangers. That
made you want to read more and more. The overall main character was a boy
named Matt. When being introduced to the story Matt was six years of age. He
lived in a small house out in the middle of a poppy field, In a country called
Opium. But there s a catch, Matt isnt a real boy. He s a clone and was created in a
lab and given birth by a cow. Throughout his life he wasn t treated very nice for
being a clone. Eventually things start to look up for him and end s up being the
new leader of Opium. Throughout book there was always one character that stood
out more than the others. He was known as El Patron he is the leader of the
country Opium. Also the creator of Matt. Without El Patron Matt wouldn t have
been created since Matt is El Patron s clone. But there was more to El Patron he
had quite an interesting personality. He was selfish, mean, and very greedy. He
wanted many things and wasn t happy with the one life he s given in the story The
House of the Scorpion it states, I gave you these things, Mi Vida. You...Owe...me,
(Farmer 239). This shows his selfishness and him being greedy because he can t be
content with one life. So he has to created human like clones to then kill them for
his sake. To have live already 8 lives yet still wanting to live more. He had more of a
very greedy personality always wanting things never really appreciative. The story

Dbq Essay On Sweatshops
Sweatshops are factories that are used around the world that major brand companies
use to make products. These factories have gained media attention and controversy
for the long hours and low pay given to the workers. Many people say to boycott
these factories because of the latter reasons, but consumers shouldn t boycott
companies that make sweatshopproducts. The first reason consumers shouldn t
boycott these products would be people actually deliberately take these jobs because
in developing countries most jobs don t pay that much. The second reason
consumers shouldn t boycott sweatshop products would be that it allows a lot of
people in the developing worlds to rise out of poverty. To summarize, consumers do
not have the ethical responsibility to boycott products made in sweatshops. As stated

One point of their argument is companies exploit poor people in developing
countries as said in document 1. However, this doesn t apply to every sweatshop
just a few and most people that work at sweatshop factories taking these jobs
willingly and were confused as to why people wanted to shut down their workplaces
as stated in an interview with some sweatshop workers in China. Another main point
of their argument is that conditions in these factories are abusive and horrible.
However, again many people take these jobs willingly meaning that they really don t
care about these conditions because they need money. Finally they believe that
boycotting sweatshops will do something good for the world. In the video it makes a
very good point that at least sweatshops are doing something to end global poverty
while the people who are trying to boycott these sweatshops may think they are doing
something but in reality they aren t doing anything to help end global

A Frozen, Essential Shadow In It s a Woman s World, Eavan Boland uses literary
techniques such as allusion and metaphor to demonstrate how women are essential
to society but are stuck in their concrete role while living in the shadow of men.
These concepts are also demonstrated by a style of writing that allows the reader to
interpret the meaning through literary analysis. Throughout history women have

Women are bound to this role as [they] never will be: star gazers, fire eaters an
allusion to faces of society and change. Star gazers were the face of the scientific
revolution while fire eaters were the leaders of change in the civil war. That phrase
alludes to the fact that women will never become figureheads of society as they
are stuck to their role. Even those women that have craned to the starry mystery
[are] merely getting a breath of evening air and they are no fire eater[s], just my
frosty neighbour coming home. The night imagery in starry and evening promotes
a feeling that is ephemeral as the women who crave change stand up but quickly
retreat back to where they came from as if they were only taking a breath. Those
women aren t catalysts of change like fire eaters they are just normal people. The
frosty neighbor and its frozen imagery alludes to the fact that women are frozen or
stuck to their role in society and they will always return back to the same place as if
they are coming
