Recently, in a telephone conversation with the current owner of Valley Motors, Greg
Voeltz, on February 7, 2008, he contends Valley Motors current location is
surrounded by affluent communities like Old Cherry Hills, Cherry Hills Village,
Columbine Country Club, Greenwood Village, The Preserve and Polo Reserve to
name a few. He explains that Valley Motors is the only independent Mercedes Benz
dealership in the south metro area. To move further south, with an emphasis
Fisher 2 on Highlands Ranch, is perceived as detrimental at this time for the
reasons above. Additionally, south Broadway is perceived by many metro
residents as the place to go for high end automobiles in the south metro area,
according to Voeltz. He admits that Valley Motors is at the northerly end of those
dealerships. However, Valley Motors current location has not, to his knowledge,
been perceived as being either too far north or not southerly enough. The Ralph
Schomp BMW dealership is moving further south due to lack of space; however,
they will continue to maintain their existing location on Broadway for their Honda
line. In spite of their move, there continues to be high end dealerships in the
immediate area to Valley Motors like Kuni Lexus, Stevinson Jaguar and Mercedes

The Media Education Foundation (n.d.) documentary Class Dismissed discusses
the representations of America s working class from the early days of television to
the sitcoms of present day. The idealized middle class or the American dream was
and is depicted in ways that have molded the public perception of social class. The
film identified class intersections with gender, race and sexuality and the portrayal of
these roles through popular iconic characters and shows on TV throughout its history.

A.Plan of Investigation
The Marshall Plan was an American initiative to aid Western Europe, in which the
United States gave $13 billion in economic support to help rebuild Western
European economies after the end of World War II. The plan was in operation for
four years beginning in April 1947. The goals of the United States were to rebuild
war devastated regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, and make Europe
prosperous again. It also aimed at promoting business in the United States by

University, Secretary of State George C. Marshall issued a call for a
comprehensive program to rebuild Europe.(containment of Marshall plan). Due to
the fear of Communist expansion and the rapid deterioration of European
economies in the winter of 1946 1947, Congress passed the Economic Cooperation
Act in March 1948 and approved funding that would eventually rise to over $12
billion for the rebuilding of Western Europe.(history state) After Marshall s
announcement, three requirements in his proposal became essential for the U.S. as
the design of the recovery program developed.(UNH) First, the initiative must come
from Europe, it must be evolved in Europe, and Europeans must be held responsible
for it.(UNH) Second, the program must be collaborative and European nations must
form a coalition from which a comprehensive plan could be developed. And finally,
the program must be self sufficient (UNH) Officially initiated on April 3, 1948, the
Marshall Plan became the largest economic recovery effort in human history. Without
the economic aid provided by the Marshall Plan, it is questionable whether the
devastated countries of Europe could have recovered to where they are today.
Historians have taken a more critical position regarding the Marshall Plan s overall
legacy. The major aspect being questioned is the Marshall Plan s focus on Western
Europe, which critics claim contributed to the Cold War.(UNH)

The Reduction Of 4 Tert В¬ВЁ -butylcyclohaxanone
In this experiment, the reduction of 4 tertВ¬ butylcyclohaxanone was performed
using sodium borohydride. To complete this reduction, 0.5010 g of 4 tertВ¬
butylcyclohaxanone was added to 6.0 mL of methanol and heated until the ketone
dissolved completely. Next, 0.0510 g of sodium borohydride was added to the
solution. At this time, bubbles formed and an exothermic reaction took place. After
the solution was stirred for 20 minutes, 2 mL of sulfuric acid was added to the flask.
The solution became white and cloudy, and more bubbles formed. Immediately after
the acid was added, 5 mL of water was also put into the reaction flask. The solution

This was calculated by taking the mass of 4 tertВ¬ butylcyclohaxanol, dividing it by
the theoretical yield determined by mass of the limiting reagent, 4 tertВ¬
butylcyclohaxanone, and multiplying by 100. This percent yield is respectable,
but a higher one could have been obtained. A source of error resulting in a lower
percent yield was the filtering to remove the magnesium sulfate out of the dried
organic solution. When filtering, some of the liquid was absorbed into the filter
paper, prohibiting some of the product from being recovered. To prevent this loss,
one should use a pipet to recover the product from the magnesium sulfate. The
product that was recovered during this experiment, was spectroscopically
analyzed, and a ratio of cis trans product was found. IR and 1H NMR analysis was
also performed for the starting ketone, 4 tertВ¬ butylcyclohaxanone. The IR
spectra, RM 07 Oi, contained peaks at 2947 cm 1, 2868 cm 1, 1720 cm 1, and
1365 cm 1. These peaks represent a carbon hydrogen stretch, a sp3 hybridized
carbon, a ketone and a ring carbon carbon stretch, which are all present in 4 tertВ¬
butylcyclohaxanone. This confirms that the initial ketone used was 4 tertВ¬
butylcyclohaxanone. The 1H NMR also proves this. Peaks found at 2.34 ppm, 2.07
ppm, 1.45 ppm and 0.87 ppm show that only four chemical shifts occur in this
compound. There are not four types of hydrogens in this molecule, but some chemical
environments are similar resulting in only four
