Evaluation and Management of Palatable Halophytes for enhancing fodder Resources in Arid Gujarat
Activities assigned and accomplishment made 2018-19 Activity target for 2018-19 Achievement i ). Evaluation of Halophytes for growth and yield. Field experiments conducted. ii).Response of halophytes to nutrient-K application. Field experiment conducted. iii). Optimization of plant density for higher fodder yield. Field experiment conducted but failed due to very less rainfall
Green and dry fodder yield (t/ha)-2018-19 Dry and green fodder yield differed significantly. Maximum and significantly higher dry fodder yield of 3.57 t/ha. recorded by S. marginatus , followed by S. nudiflora (3.03 t/ha). The lowest dry fodder yield of 1.32 t/ha by C. cretica .
