INTRODUCTION
Research exchange programs provide opportunities
for students from developing nations to gain
valuable research experience, enhance their
academic knowledge, and contribute to global
scientific and academic communities.
This presentation provides a comprehensive
overview of the Exchange Programs, covering all
essential details and aspects of the program

Globalink Research Internship
Program Hosted by: Canadian academic-institution faculty
members
Target Group: undergraduate students
It facilitates 12-week internships in research projects in a
variety of academic disciplines, from science, engineering,
and mathematics to the humanities and social sciences
Each year, interns from select Mitacs partner countries and
regions come to Canada for 12 weeks from May to
October to undertake research projects at Canadian
universities. The objective of Globalink Research Internship
is to build a bridge between Canada and emerging
international research talent.

Internship offers you
1.A 12-week internship that increases your knowledge of and explores
hands-on research in your field of study
2.Work under the supervision of outstanding faculty members, with
graduate students and research associates
3.Access to Canada’s unique research landscape: applied, dynamic,
and innovative
4.A rewarding experience combining academic research at a Canadian
academic institution, professional skills development courses and
social activities
5.A chance for you to explore your independence and gain
international experience in a new country

Eligibility
Applicants must:
•Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
•Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or combined undergraduate/master’s program
•Have one to three semesters remaining in their program as of fall.
•Apply to a minimum of three and a maximum of seven projects and ensure selections are
from at least three different Canadian provinces
•Be fluent in the oral and written language of the project (English and/or French)
•Be available to complete an internship lasting 12 consecutive weeks between May 1 and
October 31
•Not have been awarded a Globalink Research Internship project in the past

Funding details
1.Funding to contribute to the cost of a round-trip airfare
to Canada
2.Funding to contribute to the cost of transportation from
the airport in Canada to accommodation
3.Stipend for housing
4.Stipend towards student enrollment fees up to a
maximum of $300
5.Stipend for food and incidentals
6.Emergency health insurance policy for the duration of
the internship
7.Access to industry events and professional development
courses
