Experiencing God’s Presence and
Living God’s power

The State of the Church Today
Apathy
Shallowness
Worldliness
Failure to Give
Christian Burnout

The State of the Church Today
Teenage dropout
Fear of Evangelism
Flabby self-discipline
Maxed out schedule (with no real purpose
or result)

Roots of Our Problem # 1
1. Lack of Connectedness.
John 15:1-5

Lack of Connectedness.
I am the true vine and my father is the
gardener. He cuts off every branch in me
that bears no fruit, while every branch that
does bear fruit, He prunes so that it will be
even more fruitful. You are already clean
because of the word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, and I will remain in you.

Lack of Connectedness.
No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must
remain in the vine. Neither can you bear
fruit unless you remain in me. I am the
vine; you are the branches. If a man remain
in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.
»John 15:1-5

Never stop praying and read the
words of God
Let nothing, however dear, however loved,
absorb your mind and affections, diverting
you from the study of God's word or from
earnest prayer. Watch unto prayer.

Roots of Our Problem # 2
Too much reliance on human efforts.
Zechariah 4:6
This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel :
“not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit ,”
says the LORD Almighty.

Unplugged Ministry
“The reason why there are many christians,
accomplish so little is that they do not walk
with God. He is a day’s journey from most
of them”
our greatest accomplishment when we follow
Christ continually until the return of Jesus.

SANTIAGO 4:13-16
13 Makinig kayo sa akin, kayong nagsasabi,
“Ngayon o bukas ay pupunta kami sa ganito at
ganoong bayan at isang taon kaming
mananatili roon, mangangalakal kami at kikita
nang malaki.” 14 Ni hindi nga ninyo alam kung
ano ang mangyayari sa inyo sa araw ng bukas!
Ang buhay ninyo'y parang usok lamang,
sandaling lumilitaw at agad nawawala.

15 Sa halip ay sabihin ninyo, “Kung loloobin
ng Panginoon, mabubuhay pa kami at
gagawin namin ito o iyon.” 16 Ngunit kayo'y
nagmamalaki at nagyayabang, at iyan ay
masama!

God’s Solution
Acts 1:8
»Wait
»Pray
»Receive power
»Evangelize

The Lord is willing to do great things for us.
We shall not gain the victory through
numbers, but through the full surrender of the
soul to Jesus. We are to go forward in His
strength, trusting in the mighty God of
Israel. . . .

Workers for Christ are never to
think, much less speak of failure in
their work. The Lord Jesus is our
efficiency in all things. His Spirit is
to be our inspiration. As we place
ourselves in His hands our means of
doing good will never be exhausted.
We may rely upon His grace and
receive of His wisdom which has no
limit.

God can do more with one
man who is 100% committed
to Him than a whole army of
men who are 99% committed
to Him.
»John Wesley

The Essence Of Revival
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name will
humble themselves and pray and seek my
face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven and will forgive their
sin and will heal their land.

(1) We belong to God and are His people.
(2) We call on His name.
(3) We humble ourselves—by removing
egotism and self-interest from our lives.
(4) Pray and seek Him.
(5) Repent of our sins. Then,
(6) God will hear our cries and will answer
our prayers and will renew us.

The Churches’ Greatest Need
1 SM, 120-128
A revival of true godliness among us is the
greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To
seek this should be our first work…But it is
our work, by confession, humiliation,
repentance and earnest prayer, to fulfill the
conditions upon which God has promised to
grand us His blessing.

The Churches’ Greatest Need
A revival need be expected only in answer to
prayer. While the people are so destitute of
God’s Holy Spirit , they cannot appreciate the
preaching of the word; but when the Spirit’s
power touches their hearts, then the
discourses given will not be without effect.

Be careful for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your request be make known unto God.
»Phil. 4:4-6

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In
everything give thanks; for this is God’s
will for you in Christ.

Think of these Biblical examples
Abraham prayed, just one man, and lot was
delivered from the fiery destruction of
Sodom and Gomorrah.
Moses prayed, just one man, and the waters
of the see parted.
Joshua prayed, just one man, and the walls
of Jericho came tumbling down.

David prayed, just one man, and the stone
from his slingshot was guided to the
forehead of Goliath and the giant fell dead.
Elijah prayed, just one man, and fire came
down from heaven and consumed the
sacrifice.
Daniel prayed, just one man, and the
mouths of lions were closed.

Esther prayed, just one woman, and God
delivered the whole nation from complete
destruction.

Spirit Of The Living God
Spirit of the living God, fall a fresh on us
Spirit of the living God, fall a fresh on us
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me.
Spirit of the living God, fall a fresh on us
