IDENTIFYING THE NEED AND GLOBAL
SUMMARY
In much of the national market is present the
local sale of empanadas, however, even with
the present supply and demand, even in that
market is not present the element of
automation of the process that allows
entrepreneurs to optimize their process in terms
of time and personnel, in the project we
focused on the customer requirements of the
father of our colleague Jesus Ortega and a
couple more contextual data to carry out the
design project that would meet such current
need and make a significant breakthrough in
this field.

We all know the typical dish “The empanada” that is prepared not
only nationally but internationally in some Latin American countries
and that its preparation may in fact vary according to the region, we
also know that a factory in Colombia dedicated to the sale of
empanadas can sell about 100 to 500 per day, so we decided to
explore the field and optimize the manual method by means of an
empanada punching machine.

DEMAND ANALYSIS,
INTERVIEW AND NICHE MARKET
Analyzing the data from our survey, we will
consider some of the parameters that we deem
important to narrow down or begin the
development of our machine, considering the
customers' needs.
Below are the results obtained from a survey
conducted with businesses (clients – potential buyers)
that manufacture and sell empanadas in the city of
Barranquilla. It is important to note that the survey was
conducted at various businesses, which provided us
with the necessary information for the preliminary
design of the machine.
In the search to define our market niche, we
have carried out a detailed segmentation
considering several aspects.
