Things includes Eye contact Personal space Turn talking Gestures
1. Eye contact When you are talking with some person you have to make eye contact. People who look away when you look at them may seem shifty and appear to be hiding something. Both looking one another’s eye is important in establishing a sense of engagement and social presence.
2. Gestures In similar ways we use our hands to indicate item of interest. This may be conscious and deliberate as we point to the item, or may be slight wave of the hand or alignment of the body.
3. Personal Space When we convers with one another we tend to stand with our heads a fairly constant distance apart. If people start to converse at opposite ends of a room, they will quickly towards one another until they are a few feet apart.
4 . Turn Talking As well as giving confirmation to the speaker that you understand, and indication when you do not, back channel can be used to interrupt politely. Starting to speak in the middle of someone’s utterance can be rude , in this situation turn talking is helpful.
