3. FACTORS Factors are the numbers that are multiplied to get a product.

4. Example: Find the factors of 8.

5. The given number is 8. - Find two numbers that when multiplied together the product is 8.

6. 8 can be written as product of two numbers in many ways: 8 = 1 × 8 8 = 2 × 4 8 = 4 × 2 8 = 8 × 1

7. 8 = 1 × 8 8 = 2 × 4 8 = 4 × 2 8 = 8 × 1 Now, that you have all the numbers, list down the numbers once as factors of 8. 8 = 1, 2, 4, 8

8. 1, 2, 4 and 8 are FACTORS of 8.

16. FACTOR A factor of a number is an exact divisor of that number i.e. the factor leaves remainder 0 when it divides the number.

20. FACTOR PAIRS - the combination of two factors whose product is the given numbers.
