FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE
NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE
government tries to combat market inequities
through regulation, taxation, and
subsidies. Governments may also intervene in
markets to promote general economic fairness.
Maximizing social welfare is one of the
most common and best understood reasons
for government intervention.
Higher Pollution Level
In general terms, the death rate
from air pollution is higher in
countries that have a higher
level of pollution. With low
GDP levels, overall health and
healthcare quality is likely to
increase the burden of pollution-
related disease.
Shortage of Raw
Material
June 2010 ยท Raw material supply
shortage. European coatings
manufacturers are bracing
themselves for a prolonged period
of shortages in key raw materials.
For a number of raw materials, there
have been production outages and
plant shut downs, which have made
matters worse.
Increased Cost of Energy
Electricity prices generally reflect the
cost to build, finance, maintain, and
operate power plants and the
electricity grid (the complex system of
power transmission and distribution
lines). Some for-profit utilities also
include a financial return for owners
and shareholders in their electricity
prices.
Factors affecting
the natural
environment
An environmental factor,
ecological factor or eco factor is
any factor, abiotic or biotic, that
influences living organisms.
Abiotic factors include ambient
temperature, amount of sunlight, and pH
of the water soil in which an organism
lives.
