Introduction Semi green and Diciduous tree , it grows to 30 m high its bark is about 8-10 mm thick . A key ecosystem species and a sacred tree . Leaves arranged alternately on twigs , young leaves are toothed . Figs grow directly on trunks or main branches . Common on plains to 1500m. Cultivation details 6 This species is not known to be cultivated in any great numbers. It has, however, been used as a living fence post or as a support for other climbing plants in its native range. The wood is very strong and durable. It can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seedlings grow quickly and can Ficus racemosa flower and fruit within their first year of growth. Cuttings should be taken from young, healthy growth and will root readily if kept warm and moist.
