Media Poster for my film

Conventions for a horror poster Posters made for horror films often contain features of a similar nature, making the genre easily identifiable . These features may contain: - Colours such a red, white and black appearing. - The ‘monster’ or antagonist looking powerful, or the characters looking weak and venerable. - Eery looking objects/ items that may play significant roles in the film - Edgy fonts or unusual writing. - Lowkey lighting, creating mystery - Potential weapons or blood - Mysterious figure/ object. - A ‘creepy’ or ‘scary’ tagline.

Title Billing block Release date- summer Lowkey lighting- Creates mystery Dominant image- hand with a cross which is symbolic of Christianity, and exorcisms. Focal image- child is clearly possessed, makes us question but also clues is into what the films about. Studio- WB Dark grey, blue and black colour scheme to create an ominous atmosphere

Release date- Winter Studio- Sony Title Focal images- Protagonist featuring and an upside down cross, being symbolic of the devil and subject matter of the film, helps clue us in. Lowkey lighting to create ominous atmosphere and allow people to question Sub image- antagonists, clues us into plot of the film Star, brings an audience who may like her as an actor Bright white beaming off to make it stand out, becomes a focal point.

Tagline Release date- around Halloween Title, ties in with the plot and the image Focal image- ties into the plot and idea of the film, gives an idea and makes them question why? Lowkey lighting- makes us question what's behind her, her eyes look scared, we wonder why. Colour of red is common, blood, horror. Dull grey/white leaves no hints and creates an eery tone. High key lighting- juxtaposes the lowkey lighting and is exposing.

Tagline- represents the film. Focal Image- Main antagonist of the film showed Title- ties into the plot of the film. Release date- Halloween, fits the ‘spooky’ atmosphere, will increase viewership. High key lighting- everything is revealed, eery. Blind pattern, unusual and off-putting. Face looks distorted, establishes genre Smile stands out, trope of the film. Red colouring, represents blood- common trope of horror posters

Lowkey lighting in the back, gives us no information. Title- correlates to the theme. Red smile, blood and represents theme of the film. Eery and nervy atmosphere created, as its unusual Main character from the film, clues us into potential plot as she is covered in red, she looks relatively normal, makeup done, juxtaposes her situation Red split down the middle, she may be in trouble, makes us fear for her instantly Close up shot of her face, only see her expression, leaves us no information.
