What is tools? These are the handheld items used for cooking, baking, eating, slicing, cutting, mixing, chopping, peeling, and serving food items. Many tasks that need these necessary culinary utensils can be cutting or chopping the food items into small pieces, baking, heating, and mixing.
What is equipment? anything that requires power to operate in the kitchen. The bigger, either manual or mechanical, items in your kitchen are referred to as kitchen equipment. Food processors, cooks, bakers, and freezers are examples of this equipment.
EQUIPMENT USED IN FOOD (FISH) PROCESSING
Refrigerator it used for storing foods like fruits and vegetables in low temperature.
Freezer it is used in storing foods like fish, and raw meat at on above freezing point (0ºC and above).
Gas Range it is used heat source during cooking for processing foods.
Pressure Cooker this is used to process food/fish packed like canned sardines. Controlled temperature and pressure for a certain period of time.
Electric Mixer this used for mixing food in larger amount.
Gas Stove this is used as a source of heat usually used for cooking. This is a single or double burner.

TOOLS USED IN FOOD (FISH) PROCESSING Measuring tools
Weighing scale this is used to weigh raw materials and other ingredients. Used to measure small quantity of ingredients.
Measuring spoon these are used to measure small amount of ingredients.
Measuring cup for dry ingredients these are used to measure small amount of ingredients like flour, sugar salt.
Measuring cup for liquid ingredients these are used for measuring liquid ingredients like milk, oil, water, vinegar.
Thermometer it used to measure the temperature of a sugar mixture and used during pasteurization vinegar.
TOOLS USED IN FOOD (FISH) PROCESSING
KNIVES for cutting or slicing fish or meat and other food items; for scaling fish.
Peelers used for removing thin skins of fruits and vegetable.
Spatula for levelling if ingredients like flour, sugar, salt.
Ladle for levelling of ingredients like flour, sugar, salt.
Tongs used to lift or handle food and other raw materials especially when it is hot.
Colander used to drain water from foods like vegetable, meat, fish etc.
Chopping board Used for cutting, chopping food and other raw materials. Usually made of plastic or wood.
Trays Used for serving and holding foods.
Mixing Bowl To hold food during preparation and cooking.
Forceps Used for removing spines, as for deboning of bangus .
Hair Dryer used for plastic sealing of bottles and jars like in jams.
